Odyssey Moon hopes to bring lunar payloads to the masses with MoonOne

Looks like our civilian space agency is serious about getting their little robot outpost on the moon, and now they've teamed up with a company called Odyssey Moon to develop small robotic lunar landers based on NASA's Common Spacecraft Bus. The firm hopes to provide regular commercial services (the craft supports a roughly 110 lb payload) in the event of an oncoming "moon rush," a magical future time where everyone and their mother are looking to get a piece of the lunar surface. Who knows what sorts of new discoveries (and new practical jokes) await those of us who are brave enough to exit the gravity well and live amongst the stars? To peep that far out Engineering TV episode where they break it all down for us, hit the read link.

I wanna live on the moon.
No, you don't. It's cold and nothing's ever open on Sundays.
All your moon base are belong to us
Will be interesting to see if commercial landers... mooners :) going to confirm alien presence on Moon (as some astronauts told before). It will be more difficult to hide truth for private companies.
Colonizing the moon will be a tough time for humankind. The ping times will be terrible until we have enough gamers up there.
A 110lb payload doesn't really seem like it would be worth much of anything, unless you're going to fill it with dreams and wishes. What is this, a spacecraft for ants!?
The need to make this at least... three times bigger
Obviously it's just not a spacecraft for Americans.
Now to decide who owns the moon.
haha, thats gona be a laugh aint it:P

it's NOT an Odyssey Moon design but a NASA Ames Research Center designed lunar lander you can read more about in this CosmicLog post:

and, thanks to the heavy NASA help, Odyssey Moon will probably WIN the """Google""" Lunar X Prize, as explained in this article:

The whalers will be happy.
Didn't some crazy guy actually file for ownership of the moon through the UN or something and is now selling "plots of land" and making a killing??
I think that was the northpole.
I'm not sure about that 'upcoming moonrush' now, it was a plan from bush, and although obama seems annoyingly favourable towards various plans of bush I'm not sure if in the current monetary climate it's feasible, not to mention that NASA probably doesn't even have the capability to land on the moon (any more), and I'm not sure the russians will invest into doing this for america too without payment in advance, which returns to problem #1.
