Robots star in Swiss play about a nerd

We're not the biggest theatre-goers around here (though we've been known to take in the odd Phantom of the Opera performance), but this is one play we would jump at the chance to see. Called -- quite fittingly -- Robots, the musical stars three autonomous robots developed by Bluebotics, a company which specializes in service bots. The story revolves around a lonely human man who lives in isolation with just his robots, and what happens when a woman threatens to visit him in the not too distant future. Yeah, like we haven't heard this one a million times. The play opens on May 1st at the Barnabe Theatre in Servion, Switzerland, and will run until May 17th.

Anyone remember Claude's "In The Future, There Will Be Robots" from Vice City?
The future is now.
You beat me to it.
"Is this Switzerland today, or Burning Man 10 years ago?"
a play about robots and nerds...written by freakin' nerds
i should have said written, directed and acted out by freakin' nerds
Um - swap red dress onto that robot...Parasite Eve?!?
(Sorry - I've been playing PE1 for the past week :D)
Best headline ever.
The audience looks absolutely enthralled.
I'd assume this photo was taken during a rehearsal...since this show opens May 1st.
Regardless, that guy does not look happy to be there. Maybe he's playing the part of the jilted electrical engineer, and has to watch as both his ex and her manufactured replacement go full-on-les all over the stage, and he's left out in the cold. Glowering.
Poor guy.
whatever you say, mr. belvedere.
As someone who has worked in a theatre, you typically have to go to ALL rehearsals, and that that could be from 50 to a few hundred depending on the musical and who's performing it. He's probably tired from watching it the 123rd time. Anyone would be, no matter what it is.
Unless it's a Sam Shepard play about teeth and crime, every play is about, for and made by nerds.

Next Sunday, AD?
"We're not the biggest theatre-goers around here (though we've been known to take in the odd Phantom of the Opera performance)"
Those two things kind of go together.
Well, we only go to see Phantom when it stars robots.
looking pretty similar to Flower Robotics' Tatsuya Matsui's pallette design!
don't you think? http://tinyurl.com/cuuqp8
MAN: Touch it.
WOMAN: No, I'm afraid...
MAN: Shhhh... it's okay....
Wait until the Jocks hear about this. They just won't leave the nerds alone.
Holy Smokes, I was in a Children's theater production with Branch. He's an American that's been living in Switzerland for years. He's a very talented Mime as well.
all top links on this use the same pic.
odd
Is it about a nerd that went to a play about a robot?
world is coming to an end.
Ha, I live in Switzerland and I'm totally gonna watch this! ... Ok, probably not, but maybe it'll happen.. you never know.
I remember hearing about this. MIT is supposedly the ones putting together all the robotics for the play.
