Takashi Murakami and Louis Vuitton make QR codes fun again
Bland, black and white QR codes got you down? Well leave it to artist Takashi Murakami to shake things up. Creative agency SET has laced the psychedelic-anime expert's playful, colorful imagery into versions of the machine-readable code for Louis Vuitton that -- amazingly -- still work. The company has also done similar work for Coca-Cola, though nothing quite as luxuriously squeezable as this multi-colored panda. Now, if someone could just dress up those drab bar codes...

wow, it really does work, the above code is "http://lvmonogram.jp"
but my phone took a really long time to decode it while on regular QR codes it only takes a second
I've made QR codes with other things (icons) in them in the past, but this is really busy.
HTC Tilt was quick to decode it using Quickmark, but the N95-1 took a bit longer, with it's built-in reader.
I got "http://lvmonogram.jp/store" with my t-mobile g1. it also took a while.
@yincrash Took me 1-2 seconds to scan it with the G1. I used the app Barcode Scanner.
now it took just a few seconds for my N95 too, it seems it all depends on the lighting
and i also got /store on my first try, just forgot to mention it :P
I am overwhelmed by pure femininity.
As usual
It only took my phone a second where some codes it takes like a full minute...guess it just depends on the reader.
Here are some creative barcodes: http://tiny.cc/IkiQv
Those tiny urls are so great how they give no info on what you click, and now that they are popular on twitter too you can just set up a website and infect millions including senators and famous stars, lovely isn't it.

These guys have animated qrcodes http://is.gd/u5zA
Now *THAT'S* impressive. The designers of QRCodes really did a great job with specs on the bar code structure if something like that can be scanned so readily/easily. My hat's off to you, Mr. QRCode engineering guy!
@G:
What phone and program are you using? I'm using i-nigma for windows mobile on my Samsung Epix and the second i pointed my camera at it, it worked.
i'm using i-nigma on my SE w550 so its the Java version of the app and it has huge problems decoding QR codes that are busy like this. Might just be though the 1.3 mega pixel camera on the phone though.....

Oh oh oh... Firefly reference. WooT!
Kanye West, and PedoBear approve.

Hmm, can't get it to work with my QR-code reader. I think they may not have entirely thought through their cunning plan.
Worked on mine too - Kaywa's reader on a Nokia 5800XM. Ever since getting this phone and installing the reader, I've been wishing more sites would use QRcodes, especially when linking to something to download to the phone. http://www.symbian-freeware.com/ does this, it's brilliant, but they seem to be the only ones.
BTW, you can create your own QRcodes for URLs, email addresses, arbitrary text, and even canned SMS messages here: http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ - fun stuff.
All I know is that the built-in app for Nokia phones is full of phail
I don't know, I'm having problems with reading this with Barcode Scanner on my G1 on either a CRT (scan lines) or LCD. I only got it to recognize the image once out of dozens of tries. Couldn't even recognize any of the other images on Set Japan's website.
Worked fine and instantly on my Softbank phone. Very cool! I wish QR codes were more popular in the west :(
It's a lovely QR Code but they didn't take the experience all the way.... Was able to scan the QR Code on my iphone but it took me to a webpage that was designed for a desktop - not a mobile screen. QR Code needs to have intelligent logic to serve content appropriate to device.
