Philips' OLED wall makes its video debut

We already caught sight of some of Philips' new OLED lighting concepts, but when it comes to something like a massive OLED wall there's really no substitute for a proper video, and Philips itself has now kindly provided one for all to enjoy. As you can see for yourself after the break, the wall reacts directly to folks passing by, which turns out to be a surefire to get folks dancing and more generally make fools of themselves -- all in the name of progress, of course. If that's not enough OLED for one day, you can also check out a slightly less entertaining video of Philips' OLED chandelier concept, which is a tad less interactive but considerably more likely to turn into an actual product.

This is actually kind of neat and I can't wait to see all the commercial offerings of OLED lighting in say 20 years. Unfortunately as cool as that wall is I for see douchebags taking full advantage of this kind of thing. Imagine being at your favorite bar/club and watching a popped collar trying to explain OLED to people to look good.
But can it throw fake dollar bills in the air like the interactive screens at the airport? If so, I'm in.
reminds me of a NIN concert
This would look great at concerts.
OLED is gonna be big i reckon, all i can think about when i see OLED is the window tv in Back to the Future 2 (one where they go in the future, which ironically was like 5 years ago or something i think and they thought we'd have flying cars etc lol!!) So yer, within time this concept i reckon we will start to see windows with views put into them artificially, mirrors that can virtually put make up on girls or do peoples hair. It's very exciting stuff in my opinion!!
Pfft. I see waaaaaaaaaay to much ghosting. :P
Seriously, looks really cool. It's awesome growing up during this tech age.
No way am I getting this.
1 - From the video it apears that being in front of it makes you behave in 'an effeminate manor'.
2 - The more people in front of it, the darker it gets.
OK as a concept but I will wait for something useful.
These LED tiles are a bit cooler (color)...

blip fest represent
Well, the first video reminds me Daniel Rozin's Mechanical Mirrors (which are visually more accurate).

But I know, we're talking Oled, Led, etc. here, tooo bad.
damn..is that steve jobs staring into that wall..o wait..no its not..that guys has to much under his belt...steve is about 150 pounds thinner
Strange how these videos seem to be shot with 15FPS, it's like watching those first movies ever from france, which incidentally is also a time when people were really impressed with electrical light too.
I think your computer might just suck...
Yeah that must be it, plays HD content of various flavours fine, plus DVd and flash and and and, but for some magical reason smoothly plays this but as if it's recorded at 15fps, that seems so likely now.
someone needs a nap
That is true.
Neat.
It looks cool, but a bit too much like Daniel Rozin's Wooden mirror. http://www.smoothware.com/danny/woodenmirror.html Maybe he made the display for philips.
