Samsung's rumored I7500 set to be its first Android outing?

We dig Android set rumors, even more so when they're mumbling about Samsung's first foray into the land of the Android OS. We'd initially heard Samsung's S8000 Cubic might well be the first Android set launched, but the::unwired's reporting that the Samsung I7500 will be the one to watch. While still all rumor and speculation, the I7500 has a mind numbing pile of features, all of which would guarantee us picking this up no matter what OS it's sporting. Starting with quad-band EDGE, dual-band HSDPA, 8GB of internal storage, a 3.2-inch capacitive OLED display (can we get a wahoo?) 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi, and even GPS. The I7500 is scheduled rumored to be exclusive on O2 as early as June this year for €300. That, mes amis, is some seriously tasty rumor magic, here's hoping it pans out.

FIRST samsung android device? :D
no 3.5mm?
It has a 3.5 mm stereo headset.
I don't like the looks too much. Too much fug going on below the screen, although the screen itself sounds gorgeous. Since it's GSM, I assume this would end up being T-Mobile USA's phone, and since Samsung said the phones will be very different, I assume Sprint's will have a slideout keyboard of some sort.
Now if only they'd show us what they have planned for America. I'm shocked they're waiting so long when there's phones like the Pre in the way. I'll wait for Samsung Android...but only if I know what I'm waiting for. Come on, Samsung, make some announcements.
no 3G for AT&T's business? that is lame
I see what you did there.
@jonathan
the picture is a mockup.
300 EUR with a 50 EUR+/month, 2 year slave contract i'm guessing........
oh there iS 3.5mm thats awEsome, we need more android deviCes, and we need them nOw to compete with wiNdows mobile, symbian anD osx.
What's wrong with your shift key?
Seriously. Its not funny however you do it.
i Think that tHere's somethIng wRong with your keyboarD.
Rawlins
There is four people before you so how are you third.
You weren't playing the game mate.
If you're waiting for a Touch-only Android phone, then the logical choice would be the Huawei Android, or the Tegra Android.
But the Samsung's OLED could make a difference...
do should change your name to tegraX
C'mon Sprint!!!
I just read that it's HVGA; never mind. Let's have another Samsung Android phone with WVGA for Sprint! :)
Verizon? Please? PLEASE!!!
iPhone
I would down rank you but everyone else already got here first. Oh well, I'll do it anyway for kicks!
When can we expect the Android filter?
I heard there's a toiletseat in the making that runs Android.
http://android.engadget.com -> idea!
How about http://www.engadget.com/tag/android/
Good, but not as good as the Samsung i8910.
very nice!
Tegra or Snapdragon QWERTY please.
I wonder if Canada will ever get an Android device. This country sucks when it comes to the mobile phone industry.
Don't forget people, it's SOLUTIONS and APPS that will govern the success of a platform, not just cool hardware - as the ongoing success of the iXXXXX and iXXX TXXXH V2 are proving. So, as long as developers produce innovative content for Android, the platform will be adopted. The only problem is the multi-form factor nature of the client devices, unlike the iXXXXX that currently features only one screen resolution - because there is only one device.
Android has tons of fantastic apps for it, including a number that aren't possible on iPhone (yet). The one thing that iPhone has a huge lead over Android on so far is games, but if you're not interested in playing games on your phone then you really can't be disappointed with Android because there's tons of good stuff available.
I'm still totally baffled about how none of these rumored Android phones have MENU buttons on them. The OS is nearly unusable without it.
So by "dual-band HSDPA", you mean 1700/2100, right? Heaven forbid we see an Android phone that does 1900/850.
And one day, one of these rumoured Android phones will actually be released....
Please be a captive touch screen, this could be make or break for me. If it was captive touch i would surely spend the money the day its released
Well you wouldn't want your touch screen escaping and running amok and attacking people, would you?
The screen is merely HVGA, not WVGA.
Fail.
Yes, the screen is an epic "fail"... just look how the iPhone flopped with its HVGA screen In all seriousness, 320 x 480 is plenty for a 3.2" screen... lets not forget the far superior contrast and color saturation of OLED screens! non-fail!
got price : 430 EUR ! Germany o2
