of kids want an iPad
The Nielsen Company presented a cadre of individuals with a list of nice, shiny gadgets and let them cross off anything and everything they'd like to buy in the next six months, and 31 percent of kids 6-12 picked the iPad as one of them.

[Warning-apple fanboy] I like that one of the biggest features is background tasks/multitasking, and the support docs say that if you pre is slowing down, try quitting some apps. Brilliant
Pretty good advice if you ask me.
Are you trying to say that it's biggest feature is weak or some kind of false advertisement? Palm said there's no limit to how many you can run, so obviously if you're running 15, there's chance of slowdown. I don't see why this is anything to be entertained by. It's like a computer, it can run a lot of programs but it'll slow down when there's a lot. Unlike the iPhone.
People coming from the iPhone will need basic multitasking sense training.
Oh yeah, you like if I run Firefox, Adium, Photoshop, iTunes, Word, Parallels, and Illustrator my computer will slow down too? Sheesh.
I particularly that engadget doesn't have it in them to post anything positive about an Apple competitor's product. (Think old ugly Zune pics, "my Pre is running slow" feature images, etc.)
@Alex -- Is that sarcasm or what?
I'm with you too man. No need to do all this complicated jazz with the iPhone.
Stand on your head, press the center button and hold, choose from the 40 applications running, reset the phone, shut down and restart and reopen 39 apps and see if it works. Oh, wait there's only 10 apps available (that you'd want).....so nevermind. Before the flaming begins, I know all of us here know that you can't run 30 apps at a time, however, the people that will have this phone will not know that and many will not be able to understand why their phone is running slowly!
@ skydivingcoach: on the contrary, most iPhone users WANT real multitasking, not the other way around.
I'm sorry you find it complicated to swipe away cards to free up memory, but then again, if your handle is right, your work is about as complicated as "pull this cord.... wait... NOW!" so I can understand how this might be beyond you. :)
