Samsungs R522 laptop still not official, gets reviewed anyway
Waiting for official confirmation on that R522 that was spied a few weeks back? It doesn't look like you're going to get it, at least not yet, but that hasn't stopped TrustedReviews from giving one a proper once-over regardless. The site's 15.6-inch review unit sports a 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo T6400 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB disk -- plenty of power in a fairly small and nicely styled package. Decent battery life, too, clocking nearly 3.5 hours under mixed use. However, cable-free connectivity options were somewhat less impressive, lacking 802.11N, Bluetooth, and any sort of cellular wireless. So, a solid choice if you're not looking for the latest in connectivity options or don't mind toting along an external adapter. Prices are said to be between £550 and £600 ($800 to $875) with availability over there starting next month. Samsung's still staying mum about a release on these shores.

Whats with the lack of N?
Is it not enough space, or cost?
These days the difference between available laptops is blurry. (but i love that dell with the illuminated keyboard)
Please drink your coffee and try harder next time.
*gives spare change*
now get lost hobo
What you say?
LOL
What is wrong with Samsung??? They used to make cool laptops. The X60 / X65 were really impressive for their time. Now, Sammy is content with boring "me too" laptops that are rolled over in specs by the likes of Dell and HP.
Sammy, this is what you need to do:
First, if you are going to have multiple flavors for a model range, PLEASE include a high resolution screen option, like WSVGA+ (1680x1050) on your 15" models.
Second, you should have an extensive SSD option since, you know, you do manufacture them!
Come on Sammy, you used to make great laptops, but now it almost looks as if you've given up and just farmed out the work to some 3rd company like HTC or Acer and just slap your label on it. Is this the case? Very sad.
35W CPU, Intel graphics, low screen resolution, no Draft-N, no Bluetooth... – cheap notebooks keep getting prettier (the Samsung really looks nice), but the specs remain second-grade.
Glossy screen. Fail.
Is that DD3 in there? Because other than Apple and Lenovo's laptops, it seems like nobody gives a flying duck about putting some DD3 ram in their machines.
I think he needs less coffee, and needs to try less.
Has N lost the Draft badge yet?
Why on earth do they give it 7/10 for features? What gets less than 5/10 for this, putting a pentium II in it and forgetting the screen? It's as bland as laptops come, there's nothing innovative or interesting there, they just took the stock standard intel chipset and used the features it had.
Besides a backlight to the touchpad. Which, when you think about it, is entirely useless. It's not like you're trying to find a specific key here, it's a big touchpad. And you have a 15.6" lamp above it to help you see.
/agree
Who actually looks at the touchpad when using it? Really?
And the Graphics??
