Epson launches next-gen Ensemble HD Home Cinema System
Considering that Epson's highest-end HTIB is nearly two years old now, we'd say an update was definitely in order. Today, the outfit has just taken the wraps off of its next-generation Ensemble HD Home Cinema, which gets updated by way of including the PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 or Home Cinema 6500 UB. As with the prior kit, these two also include a motorized 100-inch screen, integrated surround sound, AV controller with built-in DVD player, universal remote and all virtually components needed for installation. The only thing that's glaringly absent is a Blu-ray player, which -- at this point -- is completely and utterly inexcusable. At any rate, those content with treating themselves to upscaled DVD can fork out $4,999 for the Ensemble HD Home Cinema 720p, $6,499 for the Ensemble HD Home Cinema 6100 and $7,999 for the Ensemble HD Home Cinema 6500 UB.

If this is as bad as their ink sucking printers, I'll pass.
+1 Agreed
Do you also believe that Lexmark are the pinnacle of printing disappointment? I do. =D
Wow, perfect time to release a HTIB.....during the middle of the worst recession in recent history.
I'll take two.

Well, everything can't just be on hold for ever... eventually, all those pennies you save equals $10,000 so you can feel comfortable spending CASH.
Really, at some point, we have to keep moving forward, and people will eventually have to buy products, right?
Epson ay? Do I have to pay$10,000 for bulb replacements every month?
I own an epson projector, tw600, forget what the model # is stateside since they always charge 2x as much for their products in the USA. I love it, at the time I got it you couldnt get a better projector for the money. And bulbs are ~300, but one lasts over 2 years for me so they arent that big of a deal.
recession antidote please?

I have a 1080p 4900 I paid $1500 for and will blow most people's mind. Bulbs last 500 hours in low lamp mode that is very bright in the basement.
The price was good last year, but now it seem pretty high compare to what you can get if you choose each component. I would take a Sanyo PLV-Z2000 for 1800$, an Harman Kardon AVR 254 for 439$, Polk Audio or Klipsh 7,1 set for 800$, a PS3, 100$ of screen goo paint and I would have a much better system and 1900$ to spend on movies and games.
Ouch, hefty price for a 720p projector, even if it has a motorised screen n surround sound.
You can get decent surround sound for £200, Ps3 for £300 and a 720p projector for £500 and screen for about £90. So about £1100, or maybe £1500($2200) for some more upmarket stuff.
can't believe Epsom is still around.
Well i like their watches
Just wanted to let you know I got it ;)
Had I a house, I'd have a projector system. A friend has a 720P Runco on an 87 inch screen, and it is breathtaking, even though it is 7 years old. I laugh at those with 50 inch screens; "Rubes!" I think to myself, "Hayseeds!"
