iLauncher for iPhone makes you more dangerous than a dictator with an inferiority complex
You might think that everything that could possibly be said or done with USB missile launchers had already been said and done, but you'd be wrong -- dead wrong. The next (final?) frontier for these staples of modern cube warfare has arrived in the form of an iPhone app, iLauncher, that'll allow you to control your PC-connected arsenal from afar over WiFi. It's the coolest use of a phone as a deadly weapon since James Bond ghost rode a Bimmer in Tomorrow Never Dies using some crazy one-off Ericsson, but air / ground supremacy doesn't come cheap: expect to spend $2.99 to nab this off the App Store.

i like that it says "ipod" on the top, but its a 1st gen iphone.. hah.
actually, it's the 3G. you can tell because the buttons aren't black (At least they aren't on my screen).
Actually it looks like it is the 2nd gen iPod touch
The 2nd gen iPod touch doesn't have a speaker above the screen. It's the 3G iPhone.
Well I think it looks like a Macbook Pro :-P.
This Looks Shopped
I Can Tell From Some of the Pixels And From Seeing Quite a Few Shops In My Time
@Dan
It's obviously "shopped". You can't get that quality and perfect angle with a camera. All they needed to make it was the 3G iPhone image and a screenshot taken from an iPod touch(hence the "iPod" in the corner).
If this wasn't shopped...well, it would be shopped. An iPod is definitely not an iPhone 3G.
@D.C. Meese
*whoosh*
So that's what you do all day...
hmmm. I thought iLauncher was the premier application launcher and Today screen organizer for Windows Mobile, made by SBSH. It's been around for a few years. Quite excellent, really.

Copyright issues?
I used to use iLauncher but changed to SPB mobile shell. Last week they bought out version 3, not decided if I should upgrade yet.
I heard iLauncher was the new "user-friendly" football to launch nukes.
Copyright-Issues?
So... What does this app do again?
It wirelessly(via Wifi) initiates a launch of this through your PC's USB: http://www.techotoys.com/shop/missile-launcher-p-40.html
I don't remember James Bond ever "ghost riding" a "Bimmer" in Tomorrow Never Dies...
What the hell is a "Bimmer" and where the hell can I get one?
in the movie, can't get to the wheel so he sits in the backseat and drivers the car with his phone. BTW, Bimmer = BMW Sedan.
A Bimmer is a car made by BMW.
I stand Corrected... I was thinking of Beamer.
Back in my day, we called them "beamers"
The term 'beemer' refers to motorbikes made by BMW.
Bimmers are the cars.
We've had this discussion before!!
http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/30/bmw-product-navigator-create-your-next-bimmer-on-a-surface/
Ok, so it lets you remotely control a USB toy missile launcher from your phone... meh.
What's the point in controlling it from your phone if you cant see where its shooting the missiles???
Add a webcam to the launcher, link it through the app and you've really got something! :o)
totally agreed. but then, surely, youd need an app running on the computer aswell to stream the video over
@smaa: Totally, but I'd have to assume you'd need an app on the computer anyway to send the device commands (unless the USB connection is purely for power), so if they integrated the streaming with that app...
...and made the iPhone capable of multitasking...
I'd still wait for the TG01 to come out and get that.
Another piece of junk app.
You have to wonder, why does this app deserve a story on its own? Is the functionality it provides really that impressive or important? Or is this just the typical fawning over anything apple related?
But can it launch MIRV ICBMs? Just a hypothetical question ofc *coughs nervously*
WOW AWESOME, NOBODY GIVES A CRAP.
So you read the article you didn't give a crap about, and then clicked the comments on the article you didn't give a crap about, and wrote a comment on the article you didn't care about.
Just making sure I have everything straight.
"PC" connected missile launcher?!
Wonder if that's also Mac compatible.
Probably not.
Reminds me of the climactic scene in Star Trek: Generations... Stewart and Shatner vs. the evilest man alive, Malcom McDowell.
dr. horrible laughs.
one more useless app... for each good one they launch comes 200 terrible apps...
It's just an app for fun; get over it.
"doesn't come cheap: expect to spend $2.99"
*shakes head*
This is all well and good but the flaws are many. Ok, really it's not that it's flawed, just that I can see this being so much better than it is. So you can rotate a turret and fire some silly foam darts at co-workers aided by your phone big deal. What they need is a wifi tank with a built in webcam, laser pointer and an airsoft cannon. Let the dorm wars begin. Bwah ha ha. Seriously if you could control that thing with an iPhone life would be just that much sweeter.
I wait till it make the Top 100 list of games at http://appstoreicons.com
This is for Windows machines ONLY! They do not warn you on the iTunes App Store!
That's all I am going to say.
