LaCie DataShare recycles your bits, will never say goodbye or hurt you
As gadget nerds and Type-A early adopters, you no doubt have a few microSD and SD / SDHC cards laying around that Cheeto-farm you call an office. LaCie's $10 DataShare USB card readers let you recycle those cards into make-shift USB drives. Not bad for a ginger. Watch the uncomfortably arousing video after the break -- go ahead it's safe, LaCie wants you to.

My last three SDHC cards all came with similar style readers.
Welcome to the party Lacie.
We're no strangers to love...
You know the rules, and so do I..
Sometimes I wonder who gets these '80s pop culture references... Sometimes I think an 18 year-old reading these headlines would be like watching Family Guy and being puzzled by the reference to the show 'Soap'.

dude. you must be psychic.
@Atlanta Chris
It's been repopularized in modern culture:

That's why most anyone should get it, even if born in the 90's
(Yes, I just did what you thought I did, you my proceed to low rank me)
We're coming up on mid-2009, the rickrolling stuff is old, fellas ;)
These have existed for years. I think i had something similiar about 3 or 4 years ago.
haha, i get it with the "uncomfortably arousing"
Mystery solved!
Yeah, there's been similar stuff for AGES.. BUT, I do like the style, and I like that they lock together like that, and when it's pluged in the card is hidden. All cool twists on whats already done.
Although, why not just make it 2x the SD reader, since every mico/mini SD I've EVER bought came with the adapter.
Grr, Ricker!
I was hoping it really recycled, like maybe each one took a CF, SD, MemStick, etc all in one and somehow ran a RAID on them and made it a single USB drive you could optimize as say 5 for security, or 0 for speed. If anyone out there would like to use my idea, royalties are excepted :)
Emo, that's the only reason I was reading this...
I thought the thing was going to take all my old SD's and make one big USB drive out of them.
Moving on.
Gingers unite!
both my pc and laptop have card readers built in, i use sd cards like floppy disks,
the big problem with using a flash drive or sd card as a drive is the "nand" memory that it uses
will eventually be unable to be written to. the raid configuration will run that down faster
Wait a minute...are you guys trying to imply that SDHC and microSDHC are old and outdated. I only use microSDHC these days because it's so much more compatible with other stuff. I got all kinds of adapter for the little guy and it goes in every gadget I own. And if there isn't you can get an adapter for it. Yeah I got a few usb adapters for it too. And I also got a memory stick pro that takes 2 microSDHC and convert it to 1 huge one. My psp likes it 32gb stick.
how is this different than a regular (cheaper) memory card reader?
Yeah, I was also thinking, "Wouldn't this make it a SD card reader?" I had a SD card reader that many people mistook for an USB drive.
I thought the article was a fake, setting us up for an epic RickRoll. But apparently, not so much.
I have been looking for one of these for ever!
Sure it will never say goodbye or hurt you, but the real question of the matter is will just tell you how its feeling?
Kinda cool. I'll take one if its like $20. No more.
Hermaphrodites make me queasy. But I can't stop watching.
so it's a usb card reader??
wow, innovation big time. why even post such garbage?
develope something similar that takes 10 cards, so I can shove in my plethora of 64+128 cards into somethign decent or what's the point?
WOW I CAN SPEND $10 TO REUSE MY OLD 32MB CARD!
yippie!
or you could get a 4gb sd card for less than $10 on amazon
Does Ginger hint at early Segway adopters?
