Routon previews its Android MIDs
Android on netbooks might be the fad du jour, but it sounds like Routon's still working the MID angle -- the company just dropped word of two devices in the pipeline. The P760 and P730 are said to be in the "research phase," so we don't know too much about 'em, but they certainly look nice, and they're scheduled to hit sometime in the second half of the year. Honestly, though, we can't help but wonder when and where we're supposed to use these things -- anyone craving a MID over a netbook or smartphone?

how about a qwerty keyboard instead?
Can I have one WITHOUT the phone keypad on it please.
Exactly what I was thinking- if you can't have a full QWERTY, give me the extra screen space and let me use an on-screen keyboard- a phone keypad is just worthless.
Though, I suppose if it's not touch-screen then the phone keypad is a little more useful, but if it's not touchscreen then Android's going to need some re-working.
The Routon P730 does not have a keypad. The MID in the picture is the P760.
While I'm not much for MID's why does that Android interface look much nicer than the prototype/DIY'ed Android on netbook's?
I thought from the shot's of the Android Netbooks it was kinda tied to a single sort of 'theme' and they all just looked like the G1 but stretched.
So any reason why Netbook guy's don't change the interface?
probably just didn't want to dig into and change the operating system/write a custom home screen app for what has so far been proof of concept displays.
Looks oldschool - complete disregard to design.....
