Looks awesome, I dont see a need for it though, atleast not for the averaged user.
thinkgeek has the 120gb version for 499$
Is it possible to DJ Screw it with this?
Where it's at.
I got two turntables and a microphone.
+1
This is aimed at a completely different market. If you're the kind of DJ who still carries around seven tonnes of vinyl, so be it. But this is for the mobile DJ who needs loads of music at hand quickly, efficiently and cheaply.

actually, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcV4Rz-O2Ss
The song in which the sample is used is better known than the source of the sample...
just trying to fix that, a little education never hurt anybody.
The look of the device reminds me of the old Sonique MP3 software music player that had custom skins.
so true, I loved that skin as well...
they would be sick with a bluetooth adaptor. You could dj from the dancefloor!
The only problem you'd have is not being able to monitor via some headphones on the floor. If you're confident to try it live though, would be very interesting!
Two wireless audio transmitters on your belt. Not the most convenient, but it would do it... until the belt comes off around beautiful dancing girls o.O
The Pacemaker has two outputs so you can always use headphones, having the master wireless or not.
nathan barley's phone
ahah.
well weapon
Not a phone fool!
Totally futile!
A cute toy, but nothing more really. Personally, I got my Tech 12k's a mixer, and starter needles off EBay for about this. I dunno.. for some this would be a chill way to wrap one's head around the idea of beatmatching or whatever, I'm a man of traditional DJ methods lol.
Dunno if the gadget is cool or not, but that photo retouch is ass.
inb4 stuck up vinyl purists like myself
What I want to know is, where is the actual pacemaker pmp player? It keeps your heart goin', and the music flowin'!
I love when DJ equipment stories appear on engadget. The inanity and ignorance of the comments never fails to make me contemplate a grisly suicide.
It's their coping mechanism. And it blows. But hey, ignorance is bliss.
But can it zwwwiiip, can it wouaaaaaaakzzz and can it djiiiiiiiuuuuuuuuzwwwwwiiiiiiiiip?
potentially.
gimme wifi and spotify integration and im sold..
Why would you want wifi? What will that add other than another crappy internet browser? This does what it does and it does it pretty well rather than adding more gadgets to make it a swiss-army-ok-with-everything player.
Last Night A Dj Saved My Life with Tonium's 60GB Pacemaker... iz dee hart!
I think that the www.npDJ.com device is better actually!
I'm curious to know how a music library is organized in it..
That hand is really ugly
Looks like a woman pleasuring device...sorta like The Hoff but without all the alcohol.
Spiderman can't reach his web-button while he's holding that thing!
60 GB? Didn't they come out with 120GB two years ago?

I was always interested in this, but dude... The future already arrived: Serato. So I'll probably let this pass.
I absolutely love my Pacemaker!
I work professionally as a deejay, and this device is great for mixing on-the-go, playing at house parties, or serving as a backup at gigs.
It is by far the most versatile MP3 player on the market
