Amazon press event Wednesday: See you and the bigger Kindle then

As noted by Peter Kafka over at All Things Digital, the location of the Amazon event -- Pace University -- is the historic, 19th century HQ to the New York Times which is said to be partnering with Amazon on the larger Kindle. That makes for a perfect symbolic bridge from old to new media. We'll have to wait and see if newspaper subscribers can be lured across.
Update: We have a reliable tip that Barbara Snyder, president of Case Western Reserve University, and Arthur Sulzberger, top man at the New York Times will join Amazon's Jeff Bezos on stage Wednesday. So it looks like a new Kindle focused on textbooks and newspapers is a lock.

I have a K 1.0.
I may buy the K 3.0 or maybe I shall wait for the Kindle 4.0
Yes, I do so love my Kindle. I have noticed that those who do not read many books dislike the Kindle. Those who love reading love the Kindle.
at this rate, you'll have a Kindle4 by Christmas...
I bought a K2 when they came out in March. If they just put out an updated Kindle, that would ruffle some feathers, but if it's a completely different beast (i.e. letter/A4 sized, or WiFi enabled, or touch screen, or color/better greyscale) then it's a new product, not an update. At that point, I say hooray innovation!
I would buy one if they added textbooks, moving into college I know that carrying all those huge textbooks can be a chore, and just having a kindle to carry around would be great!
Nice. I hope this means they'll drop the price on the K2. I want to get one badly, but the $370 price point just inhibits my want to do so. My Netbook costs that much(now less at 299) and I get a color screen and windows XP. Did I mention you can buy stuff from Amazon on there too?
