TEC's Lingo mouse touts itself as world's smallest, most likely to get lost in laptop bag
That Ulysses S. Grant greenback you were about to fork over to Thanko? Hold onto it for now, as TEC's Lingo mouse might be more tempting. While more traditional in function than the aforementioned deskless variant, its claim to fame is a self-appointed "smallest mouse" title. While we doubt that's really the case, at 27.5 x 60 x 19 mm and 0.8 ounces, it certainly makes a good argument. Since we know you're dying to hear the nitty-gritty details: 800 dpi, 2.4GHz with a range of up to 32.8 feet, and about 15 hours battery life with automatic shutoff if left dormant for five minutes. No indication of stateside release, but if you find somewhere to import it, at least shipping won't be too terrible, all things considered.

This is the first mouse I've seen that has that type of USB receiver. I think they should implement this in all mice...
are you being facetious?
if only the usb receiver was slightly more flushed in i would definitely get this.
Facetious? Could it mean "sexy"?
Logitech's VX Nano's is smaller
I kinda like it sticking out a little bit, it makes it easier to pull out in my opinion. But I agree...I had forgotten about the Logitech nano receiver...but this one is skinnier.
BT would be better. No only does it preclude a dongle, but they tend to have less lag.
Also, I fail to see how that would in any way be more useful than a touch pad. A mouse needs some weight and bulk to it so that you don't keep inadvertently knocking it around.
@Stereotype
The whole point of the VX Nano dongle is that it's that thin on purpose so that you never have to pull it out.
@chispito
I've had both types of mice and I don't see any performance advantage with BT, only convenience. If anything, my Logitech BT mouse performs worse because if you leave it for a minute or so, it "sleeps" and it takes a second to "wake up" and respond to movements again.
Hmm.. looks cute. My hands are probably too big and oafy for it but the scroll ball is welcome. Is this BT? If so, we might have a winner.
Ya, I'll stick with my Microsoft Arc. Best size notebook mouse I've ever had. Of course, the scroll wheel has had widespread problems, but it's an easy fix.
"likely to get lost in laptop bag"
Not on my watch!
...Cause you don't have a laptop bag?
... cause you're not going to buy the mouse?
I meant that if he ties it to his watch then the combined volume will be large enough to not get lost OR I may have guessed completely wrong and the world will explode in 2012 as a result of this...
The first mouse actually made for a mouse.
they should have use the VX nano size receiver... it's much smaller. And because it's a full usb plug, it won't brake easily, unless that is their goal for you to buy a new one.
I would think you would break your usb port before you break the receiver.
"it wont brake easily"
"wont brake easily"
"brake easily"
"brake"
thats what she said.
Doesn't look that small...
I have a mogo bluetooth mouse that fits in the expresscard slot and doubles as a laser pointer/ppt controller.
Yea but does it vibrate viciously? This one does;)..ask the ladies, they knoow wha im tawkin bout
There are just some things that shouldn't be made ultra small
Thats what she said
Midget styleee nicee..
I felt like i saw a 3.5mm plug on it,,,, WTF! 3.5mm connector on mouse?
Maybe it's a skype phone too.
Has anyone noticed the headphone label (power input) a previous next button (side) on it or am I seeing things?
My hand. It burns just looking at that.
i think this is smaller

Why the fuck does nobody use Bluetooth!?
So far, my experiences in the reliability of pairing a BT mouse in Win XP has been shotty at best. Ubuntu has been excellent and I haven't tried in Vista or Win 7. BT is also laggy compared to a dedicated USB radio, and has inferior battery life.
This is definitely NOT the smallest mouse around.
Saw one mouse at least half the size of the Lingo Mouse at Amazon!. Believe it is called the Z-Nano mouse. Just do a search for "Smallest mouse" there! Think it is a 1600 dpi LASER mouse too.
Bluetooth mouse uses higher power, and hence the batteries typically drain out faster!
that dongle's gonna get lost in my pocket
What's good about it being "world's smallest" if it's not usable ergonomically? Sure I guess you could use it in an emergency, but the touchpad is probably less tiring on the hands.
This is sleek & sexy .. i definitely want one ..
How is a mouse that small POSSIBLY less of a pain in the ass to use than a touch pad?
Meh...this doesn't tickle my fancy.. but it is small enough to maybe just tickle O_o
I take that back...it looks like a digital suppository hmm hmm hmm ^_^
Try creating Powerpoint slides, Excel sheets or editing your photos using your your touchpad! I'll stick with my notebook mouse anytime, though it takes a bit of getting used to ;-)
Saw this review when I did a search for the smallest mouse :

After reviewing so many different computer mice, I can safely say that the best mouse is the one that fits your needs and your palm best.
Is a top of the range gaming mouse, with 5600 dpi sensitivity necessary the best mouse for you? I personally do not think so.
Setting it to 5600dpi makes the cursor overly sensitive and hence un-useable, even for the most experienced gamers. As a gamer, I typically set my gaming mouse to around 1600dpi to get better control. The specs may look impressive (and expensive) , but most of it actually has little practical value to the user.
A good desktop Logitec or Microsoft mouse usually have great ergonomics and design, but for those with relatively smaller hands, a smaller & lighter mouse that fits your palm well may be a better choice.
For travellers and mobile notebook users, having a LASER mouse is important, as you may need to work on different surfaces when you travel. The normal optical mouse usually works well on a black surface, but it usually does not work properly on a white or shiny surface. Also,it would be RIDICULOUS to lug a huge Logitec desktop mouse on your travels with your Ultra-mini notebook(like the Sony Viao P or Asus EEE PC). A small notebook mouse, with LASER tracking, is the way to go.
I have reviewed many notebook mice before. The Rotino Sigma mouse is small and fits nicely into my pocket, and it used to be the smallest mouse around. However it has since been superceded with this Z-Nano mouse, which is about a third its size. The OTAS' e-blue PEQUENO Wireless Mouse, which was recently launched, claims to be the smallest wireless mouse around, and it is more than 4 times the size of this Z-Nano mouse. In fact, this tiny mouse is the current Guinness World Record holder for the World's Smallest optical mouse. We are actually witnessing miniaturization at its best with this amazingly small gadget.
Though incredibly small and light, Z-Nano packs a real punch with features that even its bigger cousin mice sorely lacks. It is a laser mouse (1600dpi) with selectable dpi (like a gaming mouse). With the shift of the clicks to single finger front-and-back clicking, it effectively halved the size the mouse and eliminates the problem of having a small and frustrating Right button. It even comes with a unique auto-scroll feature for reading (hardware controlled), and soft touches like a small pointer to trace the outline of images. Using a rare-earth magnet to manage its medical-grade wire elimates the problem of the unreliable thin wire and the retractable mechanism that many small notebook mice possess.
It may LOOK uncomfortable and impractical to use because of its small size, but it is actually better than a lot of the notebook mice I have used. Since it is so small, the idea is NOT to grip the mouse, but to rest your whole palm on the table and simply slide it across the surface. No gripping, no wrist pain!
Surprisingly, I have little problems switching to the new interface and one-finger clicking. I suggest that if one of your fingers is tired (which I did not experience after an hour of using), you can easily switched over to the next finger ;-)
In summary, I find this Z-Nano extremely handy and serves very well as a travelling mouse. Although small for normal deskop use, this Z-Nano represents a great leap in mobility for the notebook users.
Definitely my choice for all business travellers and small notebook users.
tl;dr

Just curious, do any of these micro-mice have a built-in dock to store the receiver when not in use?
nevermind i just researched and answered my question...
For my small notebook, I prefer a small, wired LASER mouse.
Wireless mice are suitable for desktops, with bigger screens! With my deteriorating eyesight, it’d be impractical to use my wireless mouse some 10 to 20 feet away from my notebook with a 10" screen.
Wired mice are typically cheaper , with no batteries to worry about and typically lighter and hence more practical for notebook usage, in my opinion.
A normal optical mouse has problems with white and shiny surfaces, a real irritant for me. Hence a laser mouse is important.
Main issues with wireless mouse include short battery life and missing transceiver(dongle).
A wireless mouse with an integrated MP3 player will be a power hungry monster! I foresee that the power will be completely drained out with just an hour of continuous MP3 songs!
I pressumed the 14-15 hours of battery life stated in the specs assume you use it mostly as a mouse, and the MP3 sparingly. Using it as a mouse consumes relatively much less power. Can’t imagine having to charge my mouse every couple of hours!!
Some of you may prefer an integrated Fridge-TV. Personally, I prefer them to be seperated. Incompatable forced marriages usually don’t work very well!
This Lingo mouse definitely CANNOT be the smallest mouse around, 'cos I own a mouse much smaller than this one ;-)
