Nokia's E52 brings 8 hours of talk, 23 days of standby
Check it suits, Nokia just spat another E-series device into the boardroom. What the E52 lacks in looks it makes up for with battery specs: 8 hours of talk or 23 days of standby. Otherwise it's an A-GPS, WiFi, HSUPA data, and 3.2 megapixel candybar with generous support for your IT environments via built-in mobile VPN, Call Connect, and choice of corporate email options including Nokia Messaging, Exchange, and yes, Lotus Notes too for all you accountants. Ships in the second half of the year for €245, pre-subsidy and pre-tax. Get your corporate funk on with the video after the break.

8 hours of talk or 23 days of standby?! That's perfect for friendless people like me!

Honestly, how long do they last?
3.5mm and USB charging !!! Yeeeaaaaaah!
23 days is quite good.
Especially since it's Symbian.
What's the difference with the Nokia E55? Except for the compact QWERTY keyboard?
slimmer cheaper.
its basically the Nokia E55 but without the compact qwerty but instead, a numeric keypad.... duno why they did this
gee, maybe they did this because not everyone wants a compact querty keyboard and the baggage that comes with it :\.
I'm going to cross my fingers and hope for a cameraless version of this the same as the E51. I need a cameraless phone for work and would like it to have some redeaming features.
hmmm, my company currently using Nokia 3109 for voice calls., great phone if you just want to make call. Hope they can upgrade to E52, without camera of course XD
Yeah, we use the 3109 too... Cheap, no frills device...
Fortunately being in the ICT Dept means we managed to get a few E51s to play with. One of my favourite phones I have ever used.
My G1 in my one pocket, my E51 in the other... It's going to be difficult to let go.
I don't care about HSUPA and GPS... i just want a cheap and stylish cellphone with 23 days of stand-by. btw i like the design of this one.
I'm a little disappointed it has no wifi....
Uhm, it does feature WIFI.
Sweeeet! 1500mAh Battery, 3,5mm jack, GPS with compass, 10,2 Mbps HSDPA & 2 Mbps HSUPA, Wifi, 98 grams and 9,9mm thick, gotta love it!
This phone is exactly what I've been looking for. A no frills phone with long battery life and useful stuff like A-GPS. But, the price says Euros....is this coming to the US anytime soon? Anybody know?
Looks pretty decent! Thing is: my E51 is so good, I hardly see any reason to replace it yet. Just works, takes all the abuse, no quirks...
Regardless, I like the subtle improvements in the E52, like the headphone jack on top and those sidebuttons look much better too.
Also, Nokia just won my personal CHANGE IS COMING AWARD 2009 for dropping glossy surfaces. Thank you, Nokia!
do want.
my e51 is the best phone (reception/voice quality/battery life) I've ever owned.
why oh why oh why does Nokia keep changing the menu key layout? the last phone i had was the E60 and the now I've got an E51, will be getting the E52 but why can't they just standardise the keypad between phones?!
Because jobs claims that as
Dead plastic
which Nokia don't think so.
Seriously, how different can that be,
a good physical keyboard like X1
is already on shelf, so is e75 working fine,
why can't palm put it on the other side?
Micro USB charging? At last?! Looking good.
3.5mm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK GOD! I really like this phone all of a sudden.
Yay, finally a proper replacement for the E51. I just purchased an E51 a couple weeks ago and love it. Symbian S60 OS, very slim (slimmer than my wife's RAZR), great buttons (big fingers...), etc. The only things I don't like about it is the flash-less camera, screen size and lack of GPS but in a device this small GPS is just an added luxury that I don't expect.
Looks almost exactly like the E51, maybe the price goes down when they release the E52.
Nice!!! good for P.A's
Love it. But will it work with T-Moblie 3G? Here's to hoping it does...

I've already got a E51 and I love it. Now the E52 with GPS... I think I know my next phone ;)
hmnnnnnnn... testing... testing... 123... 456... testing... testing
I like my e51 and this looks a step in the right direction. Does this E52 have VOIP? Speaking of did any of you E51 owners get your VOIP working. I tried and gave up after no success.
I've not been impressed with many phones over the past few years. I used to always have Sony Ericssons until I got the K850 (which was pants and since then, SE haven't really cut it IMO). Apart from the iPhone (which has some major flaws like size, battery life, naf camera etc) there was nothing I really wanted so I bought a simple (but fully featured) Nokia E51 - which I've been surprisingly happy with. It was only meant to be a temporary phone but I've stuck with it.
I'm pleased that Nokia are continuing with the E51 size/format/features as it's a good little phone. I thought they were going QWERTY crazy and that numerical keys would be a thing of the past. I might upgrade to the E52 but I would like to see what else is out this year as it's not really much of an upgrade for an E51 user. However, if Apple made a similar phone to the E51/52 or the (never really appeared in the UK) E66 but with touchscreen and a better camera, I'd be one of those that would camp out all night at the launch! (Actually, I'd probably just pre-order online but I think you get what I mean).
rizzer, I got VOIP to work with no problems.
To me this is part of what is wrong with nokia, They Have the E71 and E60 whatever (that looks like the E71)
who wants this? who wants to check and return emails using a # pad instead of qwerty
Its just the E71 with a different pad/form factor.
I see no reason for this device
There are plenty of reasons. Some people wants a numberpad instead of a QWERTY phone, not only because of the size but because you can easily use it one handed.
This is exactly what is right with Nokia. Offering people plenty of choices is one of the reason they have sold around 2 billions phones.
..."with generous support for your IT environments via built-in mobile VPN"
What kind of generosity will be offered in this case? The same Nokia Mobile VPN that no one can use?
Nokia, have a look at SymVPN from telexy.com. That is kind of VPN that most users needed.
it is looking similar to E51 but talking time and stand by battery time is amazing ........

Damn. Just bought an E51. I wonder if I can return it....
у него проц мощнее чем e71. +3.5мм джек. и обновленная ос. так что все ок
well the processor is the main difference
i own e51 and i love it
its the best but e52 will be replacin it
e51 has 369 MHZ processor while E52 will be having 600mhz Processor doubling the processing speed
and 3.5 mm jack e51 lacks and a bigger screen
and 3.2 camera is improvement with flash
i hope it will be supporting ngage officially not like mine e51 to ***** it
I think Nokia E52 is a business phone Particulary it's batery time is amazing up to 23 days stand by time . It can be also integrates seamlessly with corporate telephony systems, effectively complementing or replacing the need for a desk phone which is great .
I like my E71, it also has long stand by time.
I love e51 i have 2 e51 any body luking 4buying e51 please call 072 3760 490 for south africa
