DJ Hero announced at last, along with Band Hero for the family and Guitar Hero 5 for the face melters
Activision just confirmed a whole lot of heroes: the long-teased DJ Hero being the most notable among them. Many trivial humans had conjectured what a "Hero"-style DJ controller would look like, and at last we have our first look (above, and there's another shot after the break). Sure, we have no idea how we're supposed to play it -- where's the whammy bar, for instance? -- but we're sure once we tape a couple of our mom's Perry Como records to the sides we'll start to get the picture. Music genres include "hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance," and the game will allow turntablists to create "original mixes" of songs. Additionally, Activision is also prepping a family-friendly Band Hero game, and a Guitar Hero 5 followup to its flagship title, with all three new Hero games hitting sometime this fall.

I think I'll pass. Waiting for Cowbell Hero!
I've got a fevah; and the only pah-scription is more Cowbell Hero!
I'd only buy guitar hero if Will Ferrell playing Gene Frenkle from Blue Oyster Cult was a character.
meant cowbell hero...sorry :-(
Let the whoring of a perfectly good music franchise begin!
...Oh wait, it already has.
If the controllers were cheap, this would make an awesome oversized griffin powermate-stye control for a PC/Mac. Imagine spinning through final cut footage with that thing.
hahaha. that would be awesome. It could actually be useful to control something like traktor dj software, as a cheap dedicated controller.
So do these talentless charlatans just have an unlimited license to shamelessly rip off Konami's entire product line?
Poor Konami. They did it best :'[
....aaand the de-evolution of music is now complete.
Time to start drinkin' whisky and rye...
I'm so done with the Guitar Hero franchise. I loved 2 and we all know that was done by the Rock Band guys. Three was mediocre at best and World Tour seems way better then Three but I didn't have the desire to play it. Between the GH guitars being steaming piles of shit and the feel of the game not being the same I'm unfortunately only left with Rock Band. I'm not saying Rock Band is bad at all, it's f'ing awesome but would be nice if the GH series instead of being milked would have some quality to it so there are other options and more stuff worth playing.
band hero? thats kinda pointless,.... what the heck is world tour then? you know im starting to like rockband more and more, i just hate the guitars i find them uncomfortable to use than a guitar hero one
Still waiting for this version to leave the world of satire and hit production: http://www.theonion.com/content/news/activision_reports_sluggish_sales
are they going to make a piano hero?
you mean like this?
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/keyboardmania
3 buttons?
WEAK
http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/beatmania_iidx
you know people should just buy a real turntable and learn to mix/scratch for real..... (sarcasm for all those who might miss it)
Wow this is dumb. We one thought about how Guitar Hero makes real guitar players lose skill, just imagine how bad a DJ would become pushing buttons on this. Heck, even a iPod DJ would have skills compared to this.
Coming next year, 'Guitar Hero Hero'. Unleash your inner wannabe!
Piano hero kthxbai
im still waiting for:
Toilet Bowl Hero
Electric Triangle Hero
And of course Super Rock Band Metallica World Tour Aerosmith Hero
Maaan...
Where's my Kraftwerk Hero :(
yay, more plastic instruments made for 2 year olds and played by 40 year olds!
knowing this is an american product and among the genres included hip-hop, R&B, Motown, electronica and dance i guess the focus will be more on the first 3 and dance/electronics will be underrated.
one thing i question about is what kind of dance/electro songs will be available to play, since most american hits over here in europe are pop hiphop r'nb or metal, but the next thing close to dance/electro would be lady gaga, wich is more urban, and surely not the same as the dancegenres we have over here in europe.
i really hoep they include some artists like ellen alien underworld kraftwerk daft punk armand van helden and more like them but i don't think it will be:(...

GMTA.
Screw this crap, come on, someone make a Keyboard Hero dammit (ala the japan-only Keyboardmania from Konami)
"I remember when I was 14 years old and I got and import of Beat Mania for my birthday because my mom got tierd of me and my friends running to Chinatown in Manhattan every morning that summer." http://www.dvd-to-psp.com
I am excited for this game...I am personally a ZTRIP fan simply because he is so diverse in his choice of music...I can't wait to see what he brings to the table!
