It was certainly a slick ad, but it does tend to reinforce Intel's image of being populated largely by smug, arrogant SOBs. My former company had a large population of ex-Intel employees and most of them were insufferable. And while you could argue this sort of super-brain culture breeds that kind of arrogance, there were several (non-Intel) engineers that were just as smart but that were always humble and team spirited. Despite the prestige of the name, I don't think that I could ever work for Intel based on what I have seen of their culture.
@culbeda: So you can say all of that based on an ad that INTENDS to portray the Intel employee as a rockstar? You can say that based on your work expirience but not on this ad. Oh, and if Intel offered you a job I'm sure you will accept it. Prick.
Actually, that human chime was brilliant. This ad was awesome.. the Intel chime is one of my favourite (up there with the Mac boot sound -- duh duhh). Don't actually own/use Macs but when I was young that's pretty much all our school had, and hearing that sound felt like awesomeness had just turned on.

Hehe great idea! and the guy have a good head for such a advertisment.
Microsoft should really get a new ads agency.
Dan @ May 7th 2009 1:21PM
I work for intel. I wish it was remotely that satisfying.
du Mesnil du Buisson Victor @ May 7th 2009 7:28AM

darkmax @ May 7th 2009 7:31AM
I almost did not recognize the old Intel jingle... lol
Nice commercial. It proves that a good ad does not necessarily require attacking competitors or use any dialogues.
strider_mt2k @ May 7th 2009 7:32AM
GOOD stuff!
SewerShark @ May 7th 2009 7:36AM
For some stupid reason, it made me smile.

Thanks Engadget!
Ike Turner @ May 7th 2009 7:41AM
Haha that shit rocks!
AniMill @ May 7th 2009 7:44AM
Awesome - but lose the "Sponsors of Tomorrow" crappy tag... it sounds like something from Futurama.
whiskey @ May 8th 2009 10:57AM
What? Would you prefer some 'lolcats' or some 'duuuude' instead? How about some nice 'awesome'?
It's an ad, created by an agency, who really spent a TON of time more than you and I, researching and developing this concept...
Granted, YOU might not like it... but given Intel's market share, you would be one of the odd cases.
A great add that, if it follows the trend for some time, might shine some public spotlight over the guys that make great things (like USB) possible.
whiskey @ May 8th 2009 10:59AM
HAHA and yes, it's an ad, not an add... :P
Sorry for the typo
whoami @ May 7th 2009 7:47AM
A.J has left the building... Awesomeness abounds!
That rocked my afternoon
Mike @ May 7th 2009 7:46AM
Anyone else want an Ajay Bhatt tshirt now?
Entity @ May 7th 2009 7:56AM
Strangely yes..
Darkroom @ May 7th 2009 10:18AM
hell yeah!
Sredlums @ May 7th 2009 7:51AM
Would be a nice ad, but like one of the commenters on YouTube said,
that guy is NOT Ayat Bhatt... for me that really hurts the ad.
Praveen Premchandran @ May 7th 2009 7:57AM
that is so bad...
for people looking for the real star - here he is http://www.intel.com/pressroom/kits/bios/abhatt.htm
NickNick @ May 7th 2009 8:06AM
Thats only because the real Ajay is actually smexy.
they needed a nerd looking guy to make the ad work
Daza @ May 7th 2009 8:32AM
Shame they didn't use the real Ajay.. can't understand why they didn't (unless he chose not to).
Jeremiah Zachary Hoffman @ May 7th 2009 10:29AM
i'm betting he's too busy working on USB 3.0 and wireless USB to bother with a commercial.
jigs @ May 7th 2009 11:27AM
Well that's ironic... and pretty lame. Use the real guy at least.
