Video: Intel, we are rock stars
Advertisers have finally picked up on what we've known all along: nerds are the modern day rock stars.
A look back on popular stories from today in a specific year.

Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
No, but I bet Ajay Bhatt is worth more money than most rock stars. If any of his 9 patents are related to the creation of USB, he's getting money from just about every manufacturer on the planet. USB is in everything- computers, cellphones, PMPs, TVs, cameras, cars, etc. If it has a circuit, it probably uses USB.
He would be getting money if
a) the patents were actually licensed for revenue, and
b) he actually owned any of the patents.
He probably got a nice bonus from Intel when he was awarded the patent, but little else.
And "if it has a circuit, it probably uses USB" is effing laughable. Maybe "if it is a consumer tech toy that engadget blogs, and it has a circuit, it probably uses USB" would work, but that is quite a bit of qualification.
Actually, I have heard stories from at least two totally separate people who worked at Intel in the 80s (one now a VP) that there used to be a large amount of blow and other shenanigans going on that would just be undreamed of today.
FYI: that's not really Ajay Bhatt. That's an actor. The real Ajay Bhatt said he was too busy. That's how much of a rock star he is, lol.
Oops, it seems that while I was typing my post some other people had the same thought and beat me to it. Oh well.
So, does that make Gordon Moore intel's Sinatra?
That was epically epic...hopefully Intel makes more of these
Finally Geeks are getting some Cred!
I wants an Ajay Bhatt T-Shirt
Rock stars drink coffee?
one word: sweet!
YES INTEL - NOW - where do we get that MF shirt
This is the REAL reason I became an electrical engineer.
It is meant to be a joke.. Sad thing is I would be honored to have the developer of USB sign my laptop. I don't even have a laptop.. I would BUY a laptop for him to sign.
Microsoft? Are you listening?
Not sure it would have worked quite so well with the monkey though...
finally someone recognizes this truth to be self evident.
That was very, very disturbing. The whole thing just made me sick to the stomach.
They should have just shown a picture of a zionist and called it a day.
That was BADASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see the parodies this will inspire(I hope this was original).
Microchip design and implication are the hardest things to do in tech. You have to have the brightest minds and FUCKING BILLIONS to get off the ground.
Apple and Intel, damn we in America are sure glad to have them. Too bad our car industry isn't as bad ass as the aforementioned companies.
I want his t-shirt XXL.
By the way, they just opened a Sony Style shop at my local mall in Aventura Florida and it looks nice but their computers aren't even online. What's up with that? And that tiny new notebook with the different colors Sony dropped on us a few months back, SUCK!!!! Cheapy cheapy cheapy build quality and bad, nasty ass screen quality. I personally wouldn't but anything form that outfit except their Bravia line of tvs(1080p, of course).
Here's the local news take:

OMGosh no way dude that is just WAY too funny!

roflcopter!!!!
the moment he winks, he rocked my world
insanely funny :-)
what song is that? anyone know?
Gosh, look at all the hype. I mean, it's a funny ad, but the truth is, it's nowhere near the real picture. Now, if Keith Richards would've walked in there, those chicks would actually piss their pants. Not that there are hordes of hot chicks working there anyways.
So let's not get carried away, Intel's just trying to get young bright brains to slave away for them.
Wow. Do you not understand what parody is?
A highly amusing ad to be sure.
Now I want to see one that features THIS ad viewed from a rooftop across the street through a sniper scope by one of the inventors of IEEE 1394...
Microsoft did one a couple of days ago with Scott Guthrie and Soma

Maybe it's just me but I can't get past the freaky floating breakroom this is taking place in with grass on the roof inside a giant glass masoleum.
I found a cafepress store that sells the tshirt in the video.

Did a double take on this, is that Julia Davis in the video? She's a total legend in the UK for dark comedy.
Anyone know?
if you don't know Julia Davis...

Go figure....
Not the way it was in the 80's

Due to popular demand, Intel is producing and giving away Ajay Bhatt shirts! I believe you can win by following @InsideScoopBlog on Twitter. Exact rules at http://scoop.intel.com/terms.php. I want one of those shirts!
