Dexim MHub mixes up an iPod dock with a USB hub
We're actually sort of surprised that we haven't seen many more iPod dock / USB hub / card reader hybrids, but the Dexim MHub here is the only one we can recall seeing apart from the Griffin Simplifi. At a steep $70, it's certainly not the cheapest way to add three USB ports and an SD card reader, but it certainly does look nice. Should be on sale now.

"At a steep $70"
That's nothing for someone with a MacBook Air.

It's great for an MBA user because they would definitely need a USB hub

I picked up a couple from Woot too. They work great and, except for the lack of a card reader, is one of those rare perfect all-in-one gadgets. Too bad the front LEDs are so bright I had to tape them up with electrical tape so they don't blind me at night.

I got one as well, but it seems to no longer work...been looking around for a replacement.

We definitely could do with more of these devices. I recently got hold of the classic Belkin TuneSync iPod USB hub and I thought it was the only one of its kind: http://www.everythingusb.com/belkin_tunesync_for_ipod.html

Yeah I have that - it was only 5 quid too which is a great deal. Not fussed in having a card reader too but having a powered hub with iPod attachment makes this a good desktop accessory for me.
Sneakz @ May 9th 2009 5:15PM
Yeah, I have the Belkin TuneSync too. It doesn't have the card reader though but it was a great buy at $20.

I don't see the point of having an iPod dock. My iPod cord and the iPod laying flat on it's back works fine for me. Would anyone care to explain the incredibly benefits of a dock please? Thanks in advance.

..it only takes one hand to hook your phone up.. so the other one's free?
Richard Lai @ May 9th 2009 6:21PM
Better viewing angle, no need to fiddle with plug and also saving space (especially with these USB hub hybrids)?
radiumx @ May 9th 2009 5:42PM
I like my griffin simplifi really, but this looks cool too.
Galley @ May 9th 2009 6:57PM
I scored a Simplifi directly from Griffin recently for $30 shipped. It's great.

Why does everything has to be aluminum nowadays?
Zandr @ May 9th 2009 7:14PM
The big win for the TuneSync and likely it's kin, is that it will charge when your laptop isn't there, and sync when it is, without faffing about with cables.

Either I'm reading the image wrong, or that's one gigantic iPhone/dock.

Apple will cause the extinction of aluminium.

$70? ... as long as it's "Apple white", the fans don't care... I say, make it $150 and call it iSpecial, they'd still buy it...
