Something about the mystical look of the pyramid must entice and seduce people into shaping PC
casemods into them, because
this isn't the first one we've seen. This one -- called the Vertex -- is laser cut aluminum, has an LED power indicator, Scythe Kama-Flex sleeved fans, and suspension for the hard drive. The case also comes with a motherboard, power supply, and a DVD bay, plus side-mounted USB, Firewire and audio ports. For $400, one of these can be yours in red, black or blue, but don't blame us if it doesn't make your desk seem less cluttered -- looks like a real space hog to us. There's one more photo after the break... if you dare.

Wow, it's red!
Not a case I'd like to trip and fall on.
LOL impaled on a PC mod.
thats gotta hurt.
What are you doing walking on top of your desk, or under it?
Avoids radar detection.
It's big... and empty... What exactly is the point?
to house the components necessary for a functioning, albeit horrendously ugly, computer.
It's that sharp bit at the top.
@strider_mt2k: Brilliant.
@strider_mt2k- I feel like I have contributed to humanity by inadvertently causing your post. Thank you for the opportunity.
@strider_mt2k
flawless victory
My reaction: not bad for DIY. WTC? They're selling them? Shouldn't it be a cleaner job? Looks like it was built by a skilled high schooler. $400 and no guts?
Why did they not make it look seamless and use the bottom to mount screws. Even conceal the USB at the bottom instead of out the side. Power led should be at tip of pyramid - like luxor.
WTC? Really?
Yep, photoshopped, I can definitely see the shadows don't match.
i just noticed that too. LMFAO...awful fake shadows lol
Yep it's been photoshopped. I can tell because of the pixels and having seen quite a few photoshops in my day.
That isn't photoshopped, why would they bother photoshopping it into such a boringly average forest scene? besides the reflection seems to fit perfectly.
what a waste of resources.
They actually cut down the tree just to take that photo.
talk about a total, inefficient waste of space on your horizontal work area.
Talk about a total, inefficient waste of space on this site, but hey, I've seen worse.
@monkey
Yeah, it's called the comment section of each post.
Why do I suddenly have the urge to give my soul to it?
What I like is how it sharpens your razor blades and keeps fruit from spoiling.
mythbusters?
Humor?
First thought? Weber gas grill.
I first thought of a Yamaha B-6...

@lets: That thing looks so freaking awesome
Even if this thing was real, would it fit on your desk...?
I wish I knew stuff. So I could build stuff.
Is that a Torture device? Ouch!
ever heard of Vlad the Impaler?
This looks like it should be part of a Judas Cradle.
Those who enter the case shall be cursed!
The Kings Chamber is filled again. Looks like I'll be sleeping at Best Western.
LMAO..nice headline
They coulda painted it .. maybe made it artsy or something.. given it a lighter color with a subtle textured pattern instead of solid red.
Either that or they coulda made it look like the Giza pyramid.
At last pyramidhead can have a new.. ahem pyramid, the old one is a bit rusty and blood spoiled
Too bad they didn't though in a giant knife like sword for good measure, it really would have completed it.
When I was around 9 or 10, I remember imagining myself running a company called "Pyramid Computers" and making a computer like this (yes, I was a total nerd). Of course, it was way better because it had both an 8" and 5 1/4" floppy drives AND a cassette recorder, and it could run TRS-80, Apple II, AND Atari 400/800 programs. Totally cool, dude!
This can be used as a weapon @,o
It looks like a cover for something industrial.
A vent on a roof or something.
Not sexy.
aaaaaaaahhhhhh don't activate the red matter....
Daft Punk, anyone?
?
so much empty space. i think there was another case mod like this on engadget except the person used almost all the space in the pyramid.
Chill folks, I know it's not to everyone's taste but I was hoping to create something different that wasn't a box. The forest scene isn't photoshopped, I'm just not that good, I took those pictures near Bend, OR. For those of you who are scared of falling on it, yeah, that would be very bad :)
If you want more details, please check out my site. I am listening to your constructive comments and hope to bring out better interpretations in the future. Personally, I want to see one with a Stargate ring on the front so hopefully I can make that happen someday.

Here's a constructive comment:
Pine forests suck.
Actually, pine forests are kinda sticky.
