3G Sidekick LX 2009 now available on T-Mobile

It does sound pricey, but for a less technical type of person who isn't going to be able to figure out all the advanced features of a smartphone, this thing is the undisputed king of feature phones right now.

Hey, at least the redesign made it look like an actual smartphone when it's closed, instead of that ugly, high-school looking bloated hardware that we're used to seeing from the sidekick family.

So, I guess kudos to the manufacturer for at least trying to get with the times on this one, even if most of us have moved on to bigger and better things.

..it may have 'one of the best displays'.. but other than that, it's one ugly looking phone.. pherhaps because it's targeted at 10 tot 14-year-olds.

im 21 now but i got my first sidekick when i was 17 and i hated the pos. always lost service, no one could hear me...it sucked.


since then ive only used smart phones and the iphone. (tmobile dash, tmobile wing, blackjack)

i played with this thing in a store and its 100% amazing. full turn around from previous models....i dont understand why it would only for kids it looks amazing and is a 100% fully stocked phone. i just ordered one :)

Im seeing alot of Sidekick hate.

Its absolutely awful when people hate the device/game/movie because of its fans and not the device itself.

The sidekick doesn't need a touch screen, it has a full keyboard, Dpad, and trackball. And to add a touch screen to the OS, would just be redundant. The new LX looks like a real turn around from the past models, compared to how bloated the previous versions were.

And lastly the OS itself. The backend is amazing for everything minus web browsing, which is why I guess Microsoft bought Danger.

I just picked up this phone today as an upgrade from my VZW LG EnV.
The reason why i picked up this phone is that the sidekicks have always been the premiere messaging kings. I can jump around in a matter of seconds on this phone than i ever could with an iPhone.

i prefer my phone to me a pro messenger first and a smartphone second. Thats why i picked up the Sidekick LX 2009. That and the 3G and GPS won me over.
