Dell rolls out budget, eco-minded P2210, E190S, E170S monitors

We just caught sight of one low-cost Dell monitor headed for Hong Kong a few days ago, and it looks like the company has now rolled out another three for folks over here, including the widescreen P2210 model, and the old school E190S and E170S 4:3 models. Each of those meet the usual EPEAT Gold and Energy Star requirements, and Dell also goes one step further by using halogen-free laminates and a chassis composed of 25% post-consumer recycled plastics. Of course, they'll also get the job done spec-wise, with the 22-inch widescreen model boasting a 1,680 by 1,050 resolution along with VGA, DVI and DisplayPort connections, while the 17 and 19-inch 4:3 models dial things back to 1,280 x 1,024 and VGA only. Good enough? Then you can grab any one right now for $110, $130 or $240.

you can get a 24 inch 1900x 1200 monitor with hdmi and dvi inputs and speakers for the same price from asus for the same price as the dell 22 inch. I have it and its a great monitor .
For $270 you can get a 24" 1080p Dell monitor (S2409W, macsales.com) that looks far nicer. Really, there's not much 'budget' here because Dell monitors are expensive when bought directly from Dell. I've never been much of a fan of Asus monitors though, builtin speakers are the work of the devil in my humble opinion.
And yes, you don't have to have a mac to buy from Macsales - they have excellent prices on monitors that even as a windows/linux user I enjoy.
Who ever buys things at MSRP!? In two weeks there's gonna be a coupon to drop the 22" to $160.
asus do monitors...?
Placing an ad for another website, even if its in a respectable comment, is the equivalent of saying "FIRST!!!11!!!1"
Don't.
Whatever happened to Albatron's 120Hz multitouch monitors? They were supposed to be out in March, but that never happened...
If I'm buying a new monitor, it better be ready for W7 and 3D vision.
That is not 4:3. That is 5:4.
Lol anti-virus fanboys?
Personally I think it's fine to have to a URL signature, as long as it's your personal site.
Here are the market prices for LCDs from my months of looking for a new monitor.
19" $100
20" $140
22" $160
23" $180
24" $200
26" $250
28" $300
That's almost $80 cheaper than Dell's offerings.
For widescreen or standard? I wish they had these a month ago, I was looking for 2 standard ratio screens for my office. I do not want or need widescreen for the office (I have the 22" IPS at home for photo editing).
Stupid AOL comment system, my comment disappeared into some dark corner of the intrarwebz..
Take two.
@TareX Duh, you'd be pretty dumb to buy at MSRP. Look at the G2210 ($179 free shipping), which is identical to the P2210 except it doesn't have DisplayPort (which no one uses yet anyway).
@jdang That would be widescreen, no one uses 4:3 anymore. Widescreen is much easier on your eyes even in an office setting.
More generic TN panels, boo hoo.
I agree

Yes but posting a throw-away comment when doing so is suspect at best. This isn't Youtube.
eww, no thanks! :)
I bought what I presume is the 24" version of these (the G2410). It's got an LED backlight, so colour reproduction is pretty sweet. Paid $259 CAD ($221 USD) for it. I'm pretty happy with it.
BAHH - WHERE ARE THE 3009WFPs???
Impressive lack of design to drive the point of it being budget models home I guess?
