Pretty confident these are just photoshops, so are a lot of people at Pre forums.

These are what's called "advocate" phones. Sprint does this with all new high profile phones - An early release model is given to one Sprint employee who becomes that phone's advocate and is supposed to know everything about it. The phone is not a part of the store inventory and will not be sold to end users.

A type would be youre, or you'r e, or something of the sort. At the other poster pointed out, that wasn't a typo.

It's 'a shop, I can tell because the mobile phones display is obviously too bright, and having seen quite a few in my time.

I just simply want to know why Engadget gives a shit about protecting this guy's identity. Any ideas? This is mystifying to me.
Because the guy, nay, the entire community at precentral forums asked Engadget to blur his face, that's why. Apparently, the dumås (that's french for dumbass) didn't realize that his face would give him away. Seriously. This kind of idiot is the kind of person that Sprint has helping regular folks find the phone that is best for them. He didn't want to be fired, obviously- family to take care of, economy sucks, etc. Judging from his judgement in posting the pics, he probably need to buy some more crayons to chew on, and some more glue to inhale. Seriously, how do you post the pics, then realize that they MAY FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE!!!
Well, "Bryan Newell," (Austin, Texas?) I'd say it's more likely that the guy didn't think it would actually be a big deal if his face was in the photo, but his forum buddies freaked him out about losing his job and it was already too late. I'm sure just about anyone who knows what a Pre is understands that a photo can lead to someone identifying you.
Suddenly "blurry camera guy" makes a lot more sense.
I'll admit I'm a little confused over protecting the guy's identity. Does Sprint not know he has the phone? Is this stolen company property? It's not like we haven't seen the phone in the wild before now. We all know it has been on test runs for a couple of months now.
