Keepin' it real fake, part CCX: "iPozh" DVD player lacks Apple's style, but does the lack of Blu-ray support right

Copying Apple's style and fruit logo (this time it's a pear) is nothing new, but other than the packaging and no Blu-ray support, this Russian-born "iPozh" multi-region DVD player, found at reportedly one of the biggest electronic retail chains in Moscow, seems fit to look as generic and "un-Apple" as aesthetically possible. Still, if you're wandering through a store and you get caught in the vicious stare of that poster, you might fork over the 4,490 rubles (US $139) for fear of the gentleman on the right otherwise emerging from the poster and following you with his gaze for months to come. Look for this to hit outside of Russia sometime in... ah, who are we kidding? Enjoy the pics from afar, and in case you're wondering, that phrase on the blue poster translates to "time for you to play!"

If you read iPozh from right to left then you get zhopi that translates to english as "asses"! :D

The translators are no native Russians. IPozh is reversed Zhopi = Asses (pluralis, multiple of them) and the text is hard to translate but is more accurate as "time to play with yourself". And that's funny as hell :)

no... by no means does it mean "time to play with yourself." that would either be pora igrat camom, or pora igrat c coboi, or pora igrat cam.

closest translation would be "time for yourself to play."

Those guys a from Russian comic show, when they have a contest for two teams:
One team's representative sings a song. Then they reverse it and play it to another team's representative. He tries to sing it reversed. Then they reverse it once again and the second guy tries to recognize, what song the first guy sang. The whole process is funny, sometimes reversed words produce offensive words or just hard to sing.
So the entire point is: this is a DVD player with a function of playing this game at home - remember what the tagline says "It's time for you to play!".
What about copying Apple's style - well it's just a parody and pretention to be "stylish", whatever Apple's products are meant to be.
I've never seen a TV show released their own DVD player :)

It's a TV show product. iPoj is a derivative from Apoj, which is the reversed word for jopa, "ass". One of Russian TV comic show has a contest in which they sing songs, then reverse them, try to sing reversed versions and reverses them again. Funny but for 2-3 times. I think this device could make success in parties, it's not just regular karaoke...

Your russian is a bit rusty indd.

The slogan should be translated as "it is time for you to play" (i.e. instead of just watching). "yourself" part is not necessary. There are loads of phrases in English which cannot be directly translated into Russian and vice-versa.

For the previous commenter, the b0rked English produced typically by many russians is called Runglish.
