Favi's PJM-1000 pico projector - it projects things, baby

What can we say? The new FAVI PJM-1000 pico projector is a mere 4.4 x 1.9 x 0.6-inch beauty, weights about 180g, and sports manual zoom, focus, and video and VGA inputs. This guy will project the business with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a native 640 x 480 resolution (1280 x 800 max), 80:1 contrast ratio, and 12 lumens power. The max image size is 100-inches, and the max projection distance is 12 feet. Do you feel the overwhelming urge to project things onto walls? Looking to drop some serious cash on a rather uninspired hunk of plastic? Available now from Amazon for $279.95.

Who would want to watch one of the Chuckle Brothers at 100 inches?
I can't seem to find this on Amazon.
Oh It's because its listed as PMJ-1000 in the article instead of PJM-1000.
640x480 projected to 100" -- I must have it! Tell me where to buy it!
/sarcasm off
These are available for purchase at www.favientertainment.com
The Candy Man himself!
12 lumens?! how about "project things on the inside of a cave wall" Sure it would produce a 12' picture, but you could only see it if you were a lemur.
Sha boing boing boiiinngggg!!!!
I know Sammy never really seemed to age, but doesn't it seem odd that the picture shows little or no degradation at 100 inches diag. compared to 25 inches???
how is it possible that this device can have a native resolution of 640 X 480 but support 1280 X 800?
Downscaling. It's the same process that allows you to watch a 1080p BluRay on a 720p TV.
fair enough -- didn't even consider that considering, I'd imagine, one would likely be better off in terms of image quality just scaling the input to 640 by 480 rather than letting some compact projector do it in hardware for you (esp. considering it's taking an analog input) -- it could do a decent job downscaling, but why bother letting it do that?
12 lumens is the human equivalent of ZERO lumens!!!
Lol, even my pocket AAA flashlight outputs 80 lumens, and it doesn't look good enough to project anything.
