Panasonic's HDC-SD10 and HDC-TM10: nearly the world's lightest Full HD camcorders
"World's Lightest*," says so right in the Panasonic press release. What's that? It's a qualified statement? Oh we see it now, it's the world's lightest Full-HD AVCHD camcorder. Well, that'll make Sanyo's lawyers happy. Anyway, the new Pannys bring SD/SDHC card support, touch-screen control, intelligent auto scene selection and AF tracking along with Panasonic's optical image stabilization to keep the shake under control while zooming in at a 16x optical max. The TM10 differs from the SD10 in that it records to 40GB of internal storage before automatically switching to SDHC/SD cards of up to 32GB. The cameras also feature a 3 second Pre-Rec function that continuously pre-records content into an internal buffer which is then added to the beginning of the clip as soon as you hit record -- never miss a goal again. Pricing in the UK is set at £529.99 for the HDC-TM10 and £499.99 for the HDC-SD10 with June availability.

That pre-recording thing is a good idea in the making I think... though you'd still have to have the camera pointing at something interesting for it to be of any use - though you'd probably already be recording if you're pointing at something interesting anything...
Bugger... missed out on an automatic low-ranking opportunity there!
You're not the first to do so.
Cheer up CreepinJesus, I down ranked your comment AND reply to self, just to be nice.
This camcorder records using 1.17 effective megapixels and outputs 1080i. And yet it is still marketed as "Full HD" to mislead consumers into assuming it records using 2 effective megapixels and outputs 1080p. You have to admire Panasonic's market department for doing its job well. I wonder what they would call 1920x1080p? "Over-full HD"?
Seems that someone should be sued for this. I see the sheeple lining up to buy this because it's "Full HD."

The HDC-TM10 has 8gb built-in storage and can take up to a 32gb SDHC card making 40gb in total. Engadget makes it sound like it has 40gb of internal storage PLUS a 32gb SDHC card, which is not the case if you read the original article.
I concurr with nutts up there, it's all in the origianl article :)
is it SD10 or SD100 ?

The Pre-Rec would be good. I use my cameras to shoot and edit videos. Sometimes, however, someone else has to operate the camera and I always tell me them to give around three seconds of recording before starting the scene (easier to edit and gives you room to make the scenes flow). But no, three seconds to them is like half a second and when I plug in my camera to edit videos, the clips start off with the person halfway through their first word of their sentence already.
