Microsoft Future: hallucinating icons will be an everyday occurrence
There's nothing like a cheesy tech company promo video to make us all feel all warm and fuzzy with the promise of amazing sci-fi tech to come, and Microsoft's Future vids are a pinnacle of the form, what with their vision of a pervasive natural computing interface. Of course, strident idealism is a ripe target for mockery, and the kids at Sarcastic Gamer are at it again, taking the piss out of the last Future spot with their own dysfunctional narration. Grins after the break!

Callous bastards! Who doesn't want a cartoon puppy?!?!? "Sit Ubu, Sit."
Good dog!
Had potential. But turned out to be lame.
agreed. That and the voice over sounded like he was trying to drop a deuce the entire time.
+1
The voiceover guy sounded like he was trying to hard to sound like a voiceover guy.
*too

I actually liked the original MS video. It showed the possibilities our children might be enjoying. Naturally, it's all just PR but it was an insightful video.
This spoof is hilarious! The voice-over nails Murphy's Law to every scene and does a splendid job of poking fun at a future designed by Microsoft.
I have to say it - "Sit, Ubuntu, sit."
LULZ, that was pretty good. lol @ microsoft.
Wow someone took the comment a little too hard... don't worry the future is just about here... like 400 years from now? and something else, since when do people care how you spell on a post! you got time looks like...
go spell check this code of conduct: ID 10 T
NOOOOO 493 years away
Wrong! 498 years away.
As long as the Office Paperclip doesn't make an appearance, I'm okay with it.
Sorry, Clippy will be the default setting when you buy one.
Hull-larious!
"Mere paas ek billi hai"
"Mere paas ma hai"
enlighten
First line was transliteration of the Hindi in the screencap - "I have a cat". Second line's a cheesy yet famous dialogue from a Hindi movie. You had to be there.
I gotta say, I asked since google wasn't recognizing my request for translation. Thanks for the enlightenment.
This isn't right. When technology like that will exist either there will be 4-5 students on each side giggling and insulting the other side of the glass thingie, or the teacher would object on two kids of opposite gender to talk to each other. Imagine them liking each other and trying to kiss. That's a no-no, now and in the future.
They should have implanted lots of freaking annoying ads messing up things and blocking the screen in the video, we are talking about a future on this planet after all.
I'm starting to think Microsoft is just watching alot of Star Trek... This is like a beta version of the Universal Translator...
I think it's great that we will have floating text bubbles! YAY!!!
Chuck Norris kicked that girls face. And ate her cat.
I tip engadget to that video 5 months ago.
I want a cookie!
late pass engadget. did you guys only just see this?
wow, that was lame, cheesy and not funny at all.
Here's the original video btw - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2WK7mOQO2g
2 pages of comments already and no one has mentioned Dennō Coil?

I can't wait for the future to make us all insane... or atleast change what counts as crazy. It is like talking on your cellphone a headset... you can no longer tell if someone is talking to themselves or on a phone call.
