Eco Watercraft electric waverunner makes no sound, burns no fuel, zaps no fish
Beware Big Oil executives: EVs aren't content to just take over the morning commute. They're targeting all motorized leisure activities, and while we've already seen how an electric motorcycle can be just as much fun as a petrol-powered version, electric waverunners look to be next. The company is Eco Watercraft, pledging to build its machines in a factory powered by renewable means, thus giving the vehicles twice the green cred. The model in the videos embedded below doesn't look like it could stand a chance of keeping up with some of the more powerful watercraft on the market today, like Yamaha's ridiculous FX Cruiser SHO and its supercharger, but it should be good enough to get your kicks whilst earning fewer dirty looks from birdwatching kayakers. Now if only we knew how much that privilege will cost you.

i want this not cause its electric, but so i can ride it in the electric motor-pnly resevoir near my house :-P
thing looks slow as ass..
give me a gasser and the pollution anyday.
ive been riding long enough that speed is no longer a factor in past that, yeah acceleration is great yeah speed is fun, but theres more to jetskis than blindly holding down the gas and flying down the lake, yeah we got the newer skis with the big engines built like a friggin boat and almost impossible to roll over, but thats no fun. It was fun having the yamaha VXR and sea doo XP's that were almost impossible to get on from deep water unless you knew what you were doing, it was a blast having a almost smooth bottomed hull of the polaris slt 700, and to this day my personal baby is my 650 superjet, you can have you "85mph" sitting down, most people cant even handle 35 on a standup. i just feel like 1800cc boosted engines belong in jetskis like 40 foot wellcraft scarabs belong in our local reservoir, sure its awesome, but unnecessary.
all im saying is bottom line, i love my 650 2 stoke superjet, but if they made a reliable electric version of it that wasn't outstandingly unaffordable, i might be in line to switch over.
A lot slower than my ass running away from your gay ass!
@chris, gotta agree man, the speed adrenaline wore off after a summer, but the carve-ability and nimbleness of my kawa 650 stand up or tigershark makes me have WAY more fun :)
Why does the website say you can go places others can't? I think I'd rather be able to get mine up on a plane with some wind in my hair than into a noise restricted area.
As far as this being a 1st-gen product, I disagree. This is a mutation of a current product. This is like if someone had experimented with a gas powered computer. We already had the product, it just has a different power source.
Also, he calls it a Jet-Ski, which is trademarked. Kawasaki.
