LG's been
getting cozy with Microsoft lately on the Windows Mobile front, and it looks like one of the most significant fruits of that labor to date might find a home on AT&T -- eventually. This brassy little number is the LG "Monaco," which is apparently also known as the "Pico" to some folks; what it'll eventually be called at retail is anyone's guess, but the big news is the feature list: 3.6Mbps HSDPA, a 3.2-inch WVGA display, 5 megapixel AF cam, microSD expansion, an add-on pico projector of some sort, and
Windows Mobile 7. Though the screen is 0.3 inches smaller diagonally than the alleged minimum specified by
Microsoft's "Chassis 1" guidelines, everything else here would work (and look) great as a next-gen device -- and the accessory projector's a pretty nifty selling point, too. At one point, AT&T had a crazy idea that they'd have this puppy on shelves by September of this year, but seeing we'll be lucky to have 6.5 devices in our hands by then, this date has undoubtedly slipped since the slide was made. And yes, we'll admit -- we're intrigued by the gold accents. Is that so wrong? Follow the break for a better view of the phone.
Not bad, but it looks really uncreative.
how the hell do you get creative these days by w/ the basic form factor of 1) touch screen 2) slide out keyboard.
Doesn't look like there's a required dedicated Windows key there either.
Notice, it's using the QDS8650, also known as Snapdragon.
And this looks really good, nice resolution and a great battery.
My only complaint: 3.6Mbps HSDPA... (And I wouldn't mind a larger screen either)
127 grams is amazingly lightweight for a 5MP, WVGA touchscreen Qwerty slider with a 1,500mAh battery!. If it's built well then I for one would be all for it!
Too bad its RF performance will suck...lol
It looks good but not HTC good... At lease it has that Snapdragon processor and a Li-P battery, for some good battery life. Can wait to see this in action...
Enough with the AT&T crapphones already. Also, the iPhone 3.0 guide is pissing me off. It's been there for ages. How about something new on the homepage?
Gotta love how phones are coming out like crazy now a days
erm...call me cynical but there seem to be an awful lot of these at&t powerpoint slides floating around...wouldn't take too much effort to fake the template and bash out a wish-list of "coming soon" phones...just a thought...
I remember seeing exact same flyer for SonyEricsson K850... and AT&T never roller it out.
Windows mobile sucks major wiener
Yet nothing sucks as much as your commenting. Quit making comments, please.
this means nothing if it doesn't have a 3.5 audio jack. why would anyone get this over the touch pro2? all i want is a full keyboard and a 3.5 jack. all this media means nothing to me if i have to carry around an adapter for my headphones or carry around my ipod and my phone. its sooo dumb. i've been a wm supporter for years now and i love that i can just do anything with wm ( flashing roms, sofware, etc.) but the 1 thing i would love is a wm phone with a 3.5 jack. if this doesn't come out soon i'm sorry to say i'm going to make the jump to the iphone.
You could always get bluetooth headphones (or headset) that supports A2DP. No adaptor or cable.
Not bad, but I do fear the price. It's bound to be high.
Windows mobile 7 specs or release notes have not been released yet, but with this being a major release I think we are in store for some very nice improvements and new innovation and features.
