Video: Cooler Master's Storm Sentinel 5,000 DPI gaming mouse with OLED display
Cooler Master's first gaming mouse prototype looks to be well on the way to epic. The 8-button mouse for right-handers features seven-color lighting effects from the top- and front-sides, an OLED display where you can independently dial-in your preferred X-and Y-axis DPI (5,000 max), a twin-laser sensor, and up to five user-programmable profiles. The CM Storm Sentinel Advanced gaming mouse will be on display at Computex next week before making its way to retail later this year. Check the video overview after the break.

Is there some rule against making a mouse look good nowadays?
Interesting you say that... I don't think mice can look good as they are inherently a strange object!
Now, now...you wouldn't say that if it was nestled between the creamy legs of some hot asian chick....
sighs...looks around his dark basement and opens another pack of cheetos...
rony? moar liek ronery amirite
i find my 4000 DPI lachesis more than enough -- even on my 24 incher i have to dial it down to 3 notches off the top setting or its too fast. looks MUCH better too. 5000 is just unneccesary imo.
i think because it's 5000 DPI people will just it's automatically better then mouses will less dpi, kinda like camera's with 10+ megapixels...you dont really need that much
My 1200DPI mx518 is still working great for me.
My mouse mat doesn't even have dots on it.
I like the way this mouse looks, it seems to have a ergonomic shape like my dependable G5. I got a razer lachesis for xmas and it felt really uncomfortable after using it for 30 minutes, my ring finger was feeling pain for a week after. As for the sensor its drifted for no reason on the table even though I wasn't moving my mouse. Very strange this razer company, another one of my friend got the razer mamba, seems the battery never charges properly and there is still lag not good at all for REAL gaming.
I'm so much happier with my Razer Copperhead. While it is strictly speaking a "gaming mouse", I mainly use ubuntu and even though I don't play many games, its a fine mouse to use for EVERYTHING else. Its light, comfortable, and you can change the DPI so if I'm editing a photo I can lower it so its much more accurate.
This mouse looks like for a serious gamer though, and its certainly not something I'd like to use for anything other than gaming.
my copperhead still pwns the noobs affectively..no need for this quite yet
Just one simple question - WHY?
i am still waiting for the wired/wireless mouse, i mean, wireless, but you charge it by plugging it to the computer while you can still use it. my hope is in logitech, i am waiting for new mice releases...
btw, why are still there the "thats too much" people? why do you read this kind of blogs? this is about new things, and they always try to improve (does it have sense to do the same thing over and over?). unneccesary? yes, like the 95% of your stuff
I'm pretty sure the Razer Mamba Wireless Mouse does that, but it's silly expensive.
side winder x8 does this no? 70 bucks ain't too bad
I
what the...?
+1
Original comment:
I (less than)3 (oic it's the b& html tag) my Deathadder!
Btw this thing has a twin sensor. Does that mean it can detect rotation?
Good question... maybe it has twin sensors... just to have twin sensors though. That way you can tell your friends, "FRIENDS! I have TWO sensors!!" And your friends can be all like, "HOORAY FOR YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU!"
+1 Zax, +1
Well i'm glad you can do something useful with the OLED.
once more, something the world really need
Yes, it's OK.
Razer
Mamba
Where is the Diamondback 3G love?
I just bought my 2nd one. Ergonomics are unsurpassed for my large hands. (10.6" or 27cm span.)
I don't see why anyone would need 5,000 dpi? I've been using an 1,800 dpi mouse and have found no difference between it and a "normal" mouse. Is it increased accuracy? I don't know.
yes, increased accuracy. it's pure performance for those that can appreciate it in gaming, and for those that THINK they can appreciate it.
Its a pretty mouse....... But without it being wireless its useless to me.....
Ugh, cool?
It's nice and all, but 5000 DPI isn't really needed and the lighting affects will get boring a while into ownership of the mouse. At first I loved my G5's looks and I thought the weights were state of the art. Now, all I like about it is the grip, laser and how smooth and easy moving it around is.
This thing will obviously be expensive, but people should save themselves some cash and go for something else. This is overkill, IMO.
When will we finally get a megapixel mouse already?
(We could network them into a seismic detector network, before you suggest it's pointless)
Sorry to say but razer is horrible product and serive!!! My razer headphone mic was so loose it fell off, i try to get spare mic from the razer store and they just sent me away. :(
I think you should turn down your mouse sensitivity when you are in high DPI mode, it gives better control.
attractive mouse, nice fingers ;)
got a big LCD TV maybe :)
The CM Storm Sentinel seems very cool mouse. I like the idea of putting rubber piece over the mouse i think going to be a lot more comfortable! looking forward to this mouse i need a new one hope it ones turned out to be good iam starting to really hate my logitech mouse hehe
