Viliv S5 Air, HSDPA-equipped Air Ready coming to China in June
The Viliv S5 has had its fair share of positive reviews, in spite of its not-as-friendly $600 price tag, and now it looks like the company's ready to up the ante with the S5 Air and S5 Air Ready, according to a report from our friends at Engadget Chinese. From what we gather, both will see an improved, haptic keyboard and support Chinese character input / handwriting input, while the Air Ready also throws in HSDPA to boot. Those in the country can pick one up reportedly in June for an as of yet unknown price, while the rest of us around the world will just have to wait and see if Viliv decides to launch it anywhere else.

Anti-first patrol, on duty!
thank god for you
I'd rather just a normal post be first. Or is that not an option at this point?
Look at that fakeass tea
Notice the coffee beans?
It looks strangely familiar...

kudos to the barista!
A corn circle?
I'd rather have the Cappuccino.
Except for what looks like a cartoon tiger face.
someone is going to need some very large mouse traps to catch whatever left those in the background.
OH NOES ITS CALLED AIR ITS CALLED AIR ITS A MACBOOK AIR RIPOFF AND AN IPOD TOUCH RIPOFF THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING[/bullshit]
Anyways, this looks pretty cool. Why can't cellphones be like this? I was surprised UMPCs didn't take off... but I guess netbooks fill their void.
I think the while problem with them was price. The original concept had UMPC's in the $500 range and pocketable. Only now are they starting to get there. The problem is now netbooks are all over that range where nothing was there 4 years ago.

My avatar keeps flipflopping from a Macbook to a pic of my guinea pigs. I am no longer an Apple fan, and while I do enjoy some of their products, I have gripes with their prices and overall product quality, which though my sample of over 6 apple products, 3 have failed in some way. I want my guinea pigs!
I also want this kind of device as a phone... that kind of convergence, I'm interested in. Phone, Camera, UMPC in one, with a largish 5" display just like this device is superb.
For god's sake, choice of OS would be lovely as well... there are so many phones where you might like the form but not the OS...
Looks like my iPhone running Teleport (Jadu RDP) to my XPS at home, although I'd go blind and dumb without pinch and squeez zoom, multitouch, or a quad core on the other end actually getting work done. Whats the battery life on this crap?
That's quite a nice cappuccino, Ross. I'd take it over that gadget even :)
Well maybe not. But still, it is a MID.
Are you a fellow espresso lover?
I own the current viliv s5 out and I hope that they also bring the haptic keyboard improvement update to the old devices as its just software.
I wonder though, what they can improve about pressing an onscreen key and the unit vibrating?
I love my s5 BTW!
Overroasted beans. That, or a wierd exposure ofcourse.
Reminds me of a Sega GameGear
