HP Mini 110 netbook gets examined on video

We've already gotten a decent look at HP's new Mini 110 courtesy of the usual carefully chosen press shots, but the folks at Tech65.org recently had a chance to get up close with the netbook, and they've now thankfully provided a thorough hands-on video for folks considering it or those simply curious. While there's not exactly a whole lot of surprises, we do get a good look at the new, slightly recessed "anti-glare" display, along with the revised trackpad, the new LCD-intergrated speakers, and the rearranged port and card slots. Head on past the break to check it out for yourself.

just got myself a u100 wind.. no not thinks :P
i meant.. "not now thanks"
what am i typing..???
You should have went with the hp,, you wouldn't have had those typing errors with it..
lovin' the irony
hawwt
Hp mini netbook seeing good. Will it came with Windows 7 ?
Yea, I'll probably wait till october too for my next purchase... sad to see this has no HDMI :'(
would be perfect with the HD decoder to use as home server next to ur HDTV
next paycheck = this.
yeah! it has more things i want now. i am happy but still would debate over 2140 and this. hummm
The bad part about getting a netbook over a traditional laptop is that you want to get a new one every 6 months.
If you don't want a new laptop every 6 months you aren't a worthy engadget reader.
Shun the non-believer!... SHUUNNNN....
i know right i have 2 already!
Why the hell would they remove bluetooth?!
They'll probably add it as a custom option on the website or something.
I wonder what's the point of that empty space on top of the trackpad? Couldn't they just make the trackpad larger or place those mouse buttons on the bottom of the trackpad instead of the sides?
And yea, why no bluetooth option? BTW, is it really that hard to have a matte screen which is also flush with the lid?
It almost looks like a tradition among companies to take 1 step forward and one step back.
im glad the screen is not flush because my 1035nr screen has scratches from the keyboard and now i don't even want it anymore :(
All hail the matte screen!
Cool, im liking this.
his accent is also cool
Still crap. Build quality is really poor.
Is it just me or does it look a lot thicker than the old 1000?
I just bought one myself... glad they've not changed it enough to make me really annoyed!
It is fat (thicker)....
Bad location for the charger jack.
Well theyve gone 4 steps forward and 1 step sideways.
I loved the design of the 1000, so much better looking than my Mini9. What put me off though was the slower hard drive, 2 usb ports and non standard video port.
The anti glare screen is a bonus
The killer however is still the 3 cell battery. Its just not enough. I just get by on the Mini9's 4 cell, and i dont want some hideous growth on the bottom of my computer.
Seems like the central theme was "make it cheaper" for this new model. The removal of bluetooth, presumably cheaper 2.5" drives, standard vga, thicker design and no glass.
Hp Minis were the premium netbooks...now they blend it more with the rest..im not entirely sure thats a good thing.
"integrated"
Where are the pictures of the tapped innards of this fine beast? ;-)
Disappointments:
No Ion
No internal Bluetooth?!?!?!
WHY WHY WHY
I've got an HP Mini 1000 - and think it's great - but there's no way I'd upgrade anything until Intel drops the new Moorestown processors...
I want a 2140 with a N280, 32gb ssd, matte HD screen. That's all I want. And I dont want to pay $1200 for it. It's crap that HP doesnt offer cheaper customization options for their business customers.
It's so obvious that they took design cues from the iBook and the Macbooks.
Matte? You mean HP took off the useless smudge and scuff-prone piece of plastic off the screen?
This side by side demo is pretty cool. Broadcom just posted it to their youtube channel.
