Microsoft showing off Windows 7-powered Viliv S5 MID at Computex
Being that Release Candidate 1 just hit the tubes, we weren't really expecting a big Windows 7 presence at Computex this year. Much to our surprise, Viliv has announced that it will be showcasing the first official Win7-powered MID at the Taiwan-based show later this week. The heralded S5 will be the lucky device, with a duo of WiMAX-equipped cousins (X70 EX and S7) hanging around to demonstrate live video streaming. Needless to say, we'll be doing everything we can to drop by and see how things are going.

"And the macbook Aluminum does come with a fire wire 800 port as opposed to your shitty fire wire 400 port which is slower than a usb port."
Let's play a game.

It's called "Find the FireWire port on this computer."
Go.
You're the one who said "M$ computer", not me.

Show me the Macbook (not the Pro, you nub) with a firewire port.
The hell, who the hell uses a firewire port anyway. You mactards have to tout useless things as features.
@superhobo you are an idiot.
The typical MS fanboy who knows nothing about Macs and still insults them.
David:
Because you can't hate Apple without being an MS fanboy.
No? How about the fact that I linked to Apple's own website to prove Alex wrong? No? Not enough?
Typical mactard who doesn't understand facts and hates everyone who does.
Windows 7 RC runs pretty well on my S5, though Aero is a bit buggy.
I think one of the main issues may be due to the slow hard drive. I'll be putting a SSD in mine and then loading up Windows 7 on it. See how that goes.

@ Solar S
I have not tried it on my S5 yet but once W7 officially releases im not going to hesitate to install it on there.
Damn... moremoney to fork out....
Btw, this is awesome.
Looking forward to having a stripped down version of Windows 7 on a phone (drool).
Mark rules and is 100% right about MAC. Firewire , who uses that, USB is king and 3.0 will destroy all.
USB 3.0 may destroy everything, but it's on even fewer computers than FireWire at this point.
I wish they would release the X70 EX already... that looks very interesting.
We Live?
I, like many current s5 owners using win7, have not been able to get screen rotation working. Anyone got a hold of working win7 drivers for the touch screen?

It will be very interesting to see how this device not only sells but technically operates. Since windows mobile is a smaller footprint with few features targeting small and lower end processors (by design) it can do some very amazing things and very quickly. I think we will see windows mobile 7 include some of the new zune hd technologies as well as inherent improvements to the mobile os and we will have an incredible piece of technology to play with and use.
