Wake me up when the new iPhone is out in a couple months. All these phone companies coming out with iPhone competitors two years two late. Prior to the iPhone they were more than content to make POS Windows Mobile devices.

Wasn't there meant to be an android version of this coming out? I'm sure it will get announced just before the Samsung i7500 is released, meaning I have to wait even longer to get my new phone.
Although if that does happen, I'd probably just settle for the i7500.
Sweet, proprietary Samsung power/data jack as always. At least LG switched to microUSB.
Those looked like a micro usb power port and a mini usb data port, to me.
It's a STANDARD MICRO USB jack.

The proprietary jack is alright by me, as long as they make it sturdy. Samsung's jacks are so slim you can almost break them.
It's not proprietary, it's microUSB (charging + data).
C'mon Verizon...
Also, it's important to note that this phone has a variation of compiz.
After watching the video, I was more convinced about what Chris Ziegler's had termed the Samsung Omina a few days ago - "Rotten Eggs in a Box."

I'm in the market for a new phone, should I get this or the Pre?

I have the current Omnia but i would switch it for a Pre if possible. I would really like the Omnia HD but my mind is set for Pre if it makes it to Europe before it's old news... As for Omnia battery life.. 4 days of light use. 3 with wifi on... Only a few hours with GPS and google.maps when driving :-)
