Number of PS3 consoles sold in Oct 2009.
Gaming industry numbers in October, 2009 showed the Wii to hold the top sales spot, followed by the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
I'm wondering if this is the one with the new D-pad?... or the same ol controller with just a pretty face.
Halo 3 was a crappy game held afloat by good visuals. It was a diversion.
Once Call of Duty 4 hit the store, I shelved Halo 3 never to be played again.
Fortunately it was a gift from my girlfriend and I didn't waste any cash on it.

You're kidding me, right Quantumphysics?
Can you play online with your friends who are over at your house in Call of Duty? Does it track every single possible stat in an online database? Can you alter the levels in order to tune them more to your liking? Or almost completely build your own? Can you replay the match from every angle, and save video clips or screen shots from it? Does the campaign have 4 player Co-op? Can you change how your player looks?
The only things I can think of that are missing from Halo is an option to see a killcam, more challenges, an xp system that awards you individually as well as a team, a better variety of matchmaking modes including finding custom games, and destructable environments. And Call of Duty is missing a destructable environments and the ability to find custom games too. Other than that, both games have extremely polished gameplay that suits different breeds of the FPS genre. I honestly have no idea how anyone could say that Halo is a terrible game though, as opposed to just saying you yourself prefer Call of Duty.

halo's graphics are nothing at all to brag about, but the gameplay is fun
i havnt spun halo in months ... personally lost interest

Why can't the just make a controller that accepts snap-on plastic covers? Oh wait not to much profit margin on those.
That's one way to lower quality.
Remember, what can be snapped on can be snapped.
They tried that with different face plates and not to many people were interested. They start selling completely custom themed systems and more people bit. Pretty sure they are moving plenty of custom designed controllers, so I'm pretty sure they are going to keep doing it.
actually, 99 dollars plus that game's not TOO bad. really what they're saying tho is that they value the game at 50 bucks, which i disagree with.
Or the controller is only worth $40
If they fixed the D-pad, I'd pay $99 just for the controller.

I think they were going with a $39.99 price point for this game - in which case the controller is not such a great deal. I do hope this comes with the 32 direction d-pad.
what everyone keeps forgetting is that along with the campaign mode they planned they also added the new "Firefight" mode similar to the horde mode in GOW2, plus the control and what people forgot, every single multiplayer DLC that has recently came out and most of the DLC's alone were what about 10 bucks each so if you think about it is a pretty good deal and you get a kick ass control, i for one have been looking for a control this color to go along with the LE halo3 xbox i bought and have searched ebay and most of them on there are going for about 60 and up so to me this is pretty good and i never bought any of the DLC maps so i get those too.
Yeah, they just had to make a collectors edition. I'm such a fan. Well, that's $100 out of my pocket.

I sold halo 3 when i got rid of 360, won a new 360 in a raffle and now I want it again. if odst lets me play my friends who have 3, then i don't need 3. if it doesn't, i'm going to ebgames tomorrow...
Yes. The multiplayer is -exactly- the same. You play as either a Spartan or an Elite. Same levels. Same everything.
Lol Halo was my religion for a year and a half all I would do was sleep, game go to work till my friend got me to play cod 4 for the pc I love cod but once and a while I still go back to Halo till my xbox rrod and havent bother to send it in

What Microsoft really tries to milk you on is the $99 wireless attachment. For $55 you can get a Linksys WRT54GL flash it with DD-WRT and you'll have a client bridge capable of hosting 4 other devices such as a blu-ray player, ps3, 360, and a media computer.
or you could do it for free if you use your laptop
or you could get a really long wire to connect to your computer for about 30 bucks
Reminds me of the halo edition 360 that had the sweet green controller. I wished they'd sold those controllers separately but never did, and it seems blue & pink controllers are difficult to find these days.

The game and a controller to replace my broken 4th, I might be interested, Halo is a great game regardless of what people want to whine about, only shame is all the children online that have microphones
