Jolicloud OS alpha release struts its stuff... on video!

Tariq Krim's Jolicloud operating system just got a full video walkthrough -- and while it ain't Citizen Kane, it does prove itself to be a wholesome, rather light-hearted affair that your whole family will love. Installed on a Samsung NC10 netbook, the cloud OS manages to combine Linux and social networking into a flavorful melange. Among the "social" aspects this bad boy is integrated user updates, and the ability to look for other Jolicloud users who might be online at the same time you are. If you're addicted to the Facebook and the Twitter, or if you like the idea of having your friends and enemies alerted whenever you log onto your ultraportable, peep the video below. The private alpha should begin making the rounds this June.

doesn't look like something new. moblin looked better to me.
I don't know about the OS but there sponsor, blogpiloten de ripped there logo from the Soviet Aeroflot one.
Not so sure about the OS (best of luck) but get another guy to expose your product. That guy was as cool as a rash!
That's not an operating system, just an application.
I am disappointed. I thought it would a different OS altogether, but it seems it's just another application, umm...from the cloud :(
I agree, but at least that means I can take it for a ride a lot easier, I really hate using the ubuntu netbook remix, so much flash, I need my xfce.
looks ok but moblin looked better. also if they wanted to make more of an impact why not make the os all on the cloud network. seams you might aswell us ubuntu or whatever.
What is the difference between this and Mobilin?
The number of people involved in the development, the type of application, the financial back up..
I could go on but I think I've made my point.
The symbol on the top left of the box looks like the logo from Tabula Rasa...
Now everybody will know your watching porn!
Would be easy for your friends as they can just click the link to what your watching and start jerking themselves
ummm....
You know I just dont get it..... If this isnt on something as thin as the kindle (except with a color touch screen with the keyboard at the bottom) then its really kind of useless. Regular ubuntu can do all this and look alot prettier. I dont understand what hes talking about with the app being nice. It looks like every brief screen from Starcraft...... Except without the overall storyline and pwnage after you get out of it.
Isnt the appeal of this that you dont have to store the documents or files on your hard drive? Isnt that what being part of the cloud is about? Stupid for anyone that can simply carry their files on a usb disk and have a backup to a server and or email.
In case anyone is interested, we just posted a bunch of screenshots of Jolicloud in action on TechCrunch: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/06/01/netbook-os-jolicloud-prepares-for-launch-exclusive-screenshots-to-whet-your-appetite

Cloud OS by gOS looks more promising IMO. OS boots into a Chrome browser and every ap is used from the browser. That is the ideal "cloud" style OS I'm looking for. JoliCloud looks cool though, eee901a is running eeebuntu and I want something lighter and faster booting, I'll give it a try until Cloud OS comes out. The UI does look pretty slick in JoliCloud though!

The logo at the top left is a edited soviet aeroflot logo, without hammer and sickle.
That package looks confusing, cluttered, and fail.
Nice try but Moblin beat 'em to the punch.
