WowWee Cinemin Swivel gets UK launch, pricing info

We first spotted WowWee's Cinemin Swivel pico projector back at CES, when it was announced along with the Stick and Station models. If you forgot, the little DLP guy boasts 480 x 360 resolution, an adjustable 90-degree hinge (so that you can easily project onto the ceiling), and a three-hour battery life. It's just gotten some official release and pricing information for the UK, anyway, where it's going to make its first appearance this September. The Cinemin Swivel will retail for £349 (about $571). There's no word on release or pricing for the Stick or Station yet, but we'll keep you posted. Until then, check out the gallery of shots we got back at CES.
Sheesh $571 US!? I understand there is no announced plans to sell it un the US, but no matter what your currency that is a crap ton of money to spend on something like that. I mean its cool that it is an honest to goodness DLP and its battery powered. Maybe if it was at LEAST 640x480 or WSVGA or something, it would be worth North of $500. Come on Wowee! Bring this to the states for like $199 US Tops!
It'll probably come out more like $349 in the states. We get such a bad deal it's unreal.

hardly HD is it? and at £349 its hardly worth it. phones do a resolution similar to that now. cant see it being powerful enough to boost beyond the size of a large phone screen without pixelating, keeping the colours or brightness needed for such a device. i think il pass thanks. maybe my opinion will change if i see one if the flesh, but i cant see this being my favourite way to spend 349 squid-lets.
