Segway rolls its way into Nintendo's Wii Fit Plus

The Wii Fit Plus game may not be bringing any new hardware with it, but it looks like there's a few surprises in the game itself, not the least of which a new Segway mini-game that's been developed in partnership with Segway itself. As you can no doubt guess, that'll make use of the Wii Balance Board and Wii Remote to simulate what it's like to ride on a Segway, with none of the embarrassment or potential pitfalls associated with actually riding one in public. Amazingly, however, they look to have passed up the opportunity for a Segway Polo game and instead opted for a simple balloon-popping game that also involves a "mole-like creature."

balloon-popping while on segway ?? seriously ?
I'll take two of them!
If you had ever actually ridden a Segway, you would realize how awesome they are!
but they should have come up with something creative rather than a balloon-popping game!
Awesome device: Yes.
Look like an ASS using one: YES!!!
I own one and I always laugh when people who have no experience on one tell others how dorky it is to ride it. Maybe riding a Segway isn't for people who are too self-conscious or care what others think.
ROFL
Man this Nintendo press conference was bad, seriously I felt a disturbance in the force, millions of Nintendo fanboys cried out in frustration at what Nintendo had to offer today.
By this I take it you mean that it was a failure because they showed a lot games, both ones we knew of and ones we didn't, some this year, some next and that they are coming out with real, tangible, 1:1 motion control in 5 days, and that the games look great? Or was it because of all the games they didn't announce at the PC that are also coming this year and next and that look great (see their press info)? I'm having a tough time wrapping my head around what the "failure" was (aside from vitality sensor, of course. ;)
balance board might actually benefit from having some handle people can use
"mole-like creature" = Woz
Wow ... even the Mii looks like a dork riding one.
I appreciate new design and tech (and Dean Kamen is the man), but the Segway just didn't take off and probably should be abandoned or kept as a city-touring device or a security guard vehicle for museums. It's something that everyone wants to try, but are too embarrassed to actually ride around (especially with a helmet).
Dean, just keep perfecting that clean water machine.
That's something we all want and need.
Embarrassed to ride one? Why should I be? I drove my electric vehicle to work this morning. Did you?
No, I work from home.
I ride my Segway from my den to the kitchen to grab some Pillsbury toaster strudels.
"I drove my electric vehicle to work this morning. Did you?"
Did you post that comment from your mac? Or was it your Iphone?
My PC that I work on.
Some comedy just writes itself.
I think I'm going to watch WallE and lick a bucket of lard.
Segway? How does not walking keep you fit?
That's the same lame comment I get almost every time I ride my Segway to work. Another I like is when people ask me if my heart rate gets high when I am on my Segway. I tell them it gets as high as it does when I drive my car to work. Ignorant fools.
Segwii?
I refuse to buy this game unless they add a Chimpanzee mode.
Time to make a Woz mii look alike =D
I would love to have a segway free roam mode lol.
they need to make a polo mini game
nvm, the article beat me to it
Engadget is really struggling with their fanboyism. Lavishing praise on Microsoft's astounding achievement of a video that seems to be the fruits of their 4 years labor, while bashing Nintendo at every turn. Nintendo had a great showing this year. They showed by far the most games, they have 1:1 motion control coming out next week, and they even had a number of real surprises in their press conference. Plus they can take your pulse, which is rising quite rapidly for Sony and Microsoft fanboys. ;)
