Its still an atom
Quantumphysics @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:33PM
too bad its only an ATOM. If they offered this with Quad core, I'd buy it for home office. I like that monitor alot.
iphonerulez @ Jun 3rd 2009 7:09PM
They're pushing a desktop computer with an Atom processor. Unbelievable. I'm telling you that this stuff is geared for third-world nations where family members take turns on a stationary bike hooked up to a generator to get electricity. Well, I guess it works fine as a digital picture frame but I'm sure it would puke on Microsoft Office. It's all well and good they're trying to conserve electricity, but a 1.6 Atom is pretty low on the food chain considering people were snubbing 2.0 Core Duos a couple of years back as being underpowered.

I can think of aprox. 7 million people that this would make a great *only* or 2nd PC for. Most people, unlike you folks, aren't turning their computers on to hack the pentagon while they whittle away the hours playing WoW, and type up that 400 page novel on how great their generation is. Nope, most of em are just checking their email and maybe going to a couple of sites, playing some flash games, or typing up a report whilst listening to last.
I don't see any real reason for my bro-in-law to be burning up 100-200 watts, just so my nieces can add some glittery shit to their Myspace page. Not when an Atom can get the job done for much less kwh.
If anything, that damn 945 should be the object of criticism. I've got it on my D945GCLF2 and as far as I'm concerned someone at Intel(anyone will do) should be drawn and quartered for the addition of this hot, powerhungry piece of crud.
When paired with the ION(yeah I know, enough about ION already) the combo should make a perfect, low-powered computer that meets a majority of peoples needs.

Look like the 2001 apple studio display...
Michael @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:57PM
Definitely looks like and old school Apple Studio Display. Which I always liked the looks of.
Good job MSI. If you're going to copy, might as well copy from the best.
Very few other companies in the computer market can seem to grasp decent clean industrial design.
Certainly better then all this tribal tattoo white trash design that's going around.

Why wouldn't they use a wireless KB + mouse for promo shots?
Kelvinyam @ Jun 4th 2009 12:25AM
I agree. Other than that, the KB and mouse don't really match the monitor.
no, thank you @ Jun 3rd 2009 6:24PM
semi-transparent hand!

So who wants to put osx86 leopard on it first?
illankid @ Jun 3rd 2009 8:57PM
Apple just called, they want their 2001-2004 cinema display back
Slkatz @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:29PM
I knew the comments would say it looks just like the Apple Cinema display.
Office 2007 runs quite well on an Atom processor. It's not a quad core, but it is more than adequate.
Windhawk @ Jun 3rd 2009 10:23PM
Please put a dual core in there. And Hackintosh it please!
3Djesus @ Jun 4th 2009 1:27AM
There is and they will.
Ecityvalue @ Jun 4th 2009 12:31AM
