LG Display showcases 11.5-inch flexible e-paper
We're still years away from commercialized color variants, but LG Display is proving that bigger ain't really a thang. In fact, it recently showcased an 11.5-inch sheet of flexible e-paper at SID 2009, which could obviously be used in the Kindle XXL. Sadly, few (and by few, we mean none) details were given regarding an eventual launch date, but hey, at least it's around, right?

All these manufacturers do is SHOW us stupid prototypes. They should take the Remedy Entertainment approach and shut up for 5 years, then release it within a year.
Boy I'd like to e-ink her. amirite?
you are correct, sir.
I'm just impressed that there is a dedicated OLED display blog fansite.
There are OLED fanboys?
But isn't this ePaper? Surely the OLED guys should be throwing taunts at the ePaper fanboys about refresh rates or something.
boring.
just make them happen allready
So it can 'flex' like 3 degrees or something?
er... wow... and... stuff...
A few degrees of flexibility could mean the difference between a fractured screen and one that survives being dropped several feet onto concrete.
Is it just me or is the "LG Display" text photoshopped on? If so... what is the point of doing that?
It does look kinda crooked...
Not so impressed with e-paper, however I'm somewhat impressed with the calliber of model being used to show it off. Shes at least an 8 and totaly bangable. This is rare at tech tradeshows.
Hey, if LGs starting to make those things, maybe we'll finally see them in more devices.
