Microsoft's Kim lays out ten-year Xbox 360 lifecycle
It's no secret that Sony's has a ten-year lifecycle (or longer) in mind for all of its consoles, but Microsoft has so far been a bit less clear cut when it comes to talking about its long-term plans. That now looks to be changing, however, as Microsoft Shane Kim has told VentureBeat that the company "firmly" believes that the Xbox 360 "has a life cycle through 2015," or exactly ten years since it launched. That minor revelation came in the same interview where Kim also discussed Project Natal at length, which, he notes, would fit "mid-cycle" into the Xbox 360's lifetime, so who knows what Microsoft has in store for the 360's twilight years.[Via gamesindustry.biz]

Natal means birth and Microsoft's Natal will surely change the definition of home entertainment. This concept is so unique and the fact that Sony or Nintendo could not even think of it earlier implies that they have already lost the battle. Microsoft rocked E3 2009 and the other players just fizzled out.
PC GAMING FTW!!!
If Sega jumped back into the game (or any other company) and released a top of the line console in the next year or two, would you buy it? Or would you wait until the next XBox, Playstation or Wii comes out three or four years from now? Just curious.
@Amrosorma, read the article again.
The life-span of the console is what this is talking about. It is not saying a new console wont come out until 2015.
Expect a new console in a year or two.
PC is not perfect. Far from it. Ever have problems playing a game with a friend on the same PC? How about being able to leave that desk?
