40 Second Toothbrush complicates, horrifies
We're not going to claim that the toothbrush can't be improved upon -- we know from experience that's not the case. But there is such a thing as going too far. The 40 Second Toothbrush, however, doesn't really claim to be more awesome than your standard stick-and-bristles affair -- just to be much, much faster. How does it cut the timesink of brushing the pearlies down by 66 percent? By having four intense-looking heads, which are capable of hitting up to six surfaces at once, at a rate of 810 swipes per minute. We haven't taken the thing for a spin ourselves, so we're not going to bother naysaying it, but we will say that it looks like a terrifying way to begin or end a day. The mouth violating 40 Second Toothbrush runs $99.95 from Hammacher Schlemmer and is available right now.

What the hell does LEDs have to do with the toothbrush?
Is it safe?
Better hope this toothbrush doesn't catch on anything in your mouth or it'll turn your fucking head inside out.

"40 Second Toothbrush complicates, horrifies"
Great. Just, great.
All the technology in the world and I still have to use a brush that's looked the same for YEARS, I have to brush for 2mins and have to replace the brush ever couple months. Come on! Healthier brush's please?!?!
But will it blend (your teeth)?
Looks quite painfull.
I didnt know engadget kept up with adult toys!?!? haha
This is just an update to a product that's been out for about 9 years now. www.hydrabrush.com, nothing new.
the shape looks ugly...however considering the benefit, it can be a choice
Sky Mall shouldn't be a source of gadgets for EnModo.
p.s. the time you save brushing top and bottom teeth together is used loading the HydraBrush with toothpaste.
This is stupid. The "2 minutes" time requirement for toothbrushing isn't based on the number of "swipes required" (else manual toothbrushing would take like 10 years a day...), but on the time required for the fluoride to become "active". This toothbrush doesn't save you a second.
