No interest in the
iPhone 3G S? How's about an 8GB
iPhone 3G for $99 on a new 2-year AT&T contract? That's exactly what was just announced at WWDC 2009, and yes, this new price is effective
today. We're guessing any remaining 16GB iPhone 3G units will be scrounged up at closeout rates as well. Oh, and if you're mid-contract on AT&T (with any phone), you'll be asked to
shell out a whopping $299 for one of these 8GB units or $399 / $499 for the 16GB / 32GB iPhone 3G S. Frankly, that upgrade deal reeks compared to
the offer that was passed along to those who upgraded from the iPhone to iPhone 3G (mid-contract users paid the same as new / renewing contract users), but then again, the original iPhone was only sold in unsubsidized (and thus,
crazy expensive) form.

I still think its too high
The funny thing is, no Apple is NOT stuck with AT&T because the exclusivity contract is expiring soon. Apple already went to Verizon Wireless for the iPhone, but Verizon wouldn't agree to Apple's terms. Now looking back, just one thing to say to Verizon: Sucks to be you!
For those of you that are complaining about the camera ... YES there are mobile phones out there with 8 or 9 MP, but aren't they a tad bit bulky and heavy? "Boxxy" is the term I like to use. Everything is done around the iPhone design - period.
As for the iPhone being the #2 smartphone on the market - WRONG! Where'd you get your statistics from? Just because it is #2 in a chain of stores doesn't make it #2 in the US. Nationally, the iPhone is #1, then the Blackberry Bold is #2, Palm Pre is #3 (probably because the network it's on SUCKS), and the Samsung Jack is #4. Funny how the Blackberry Curve isn't even mentioned.
Yes, I do love the Palm Pre, but refuse to switch to a network with an overall quality rating of less than 3 stars (Verizon and AT&T both got 4.5 stars and T-Mobile got 3.5). Sprint doesn't even own any of its own towers now (they were all sold off to private companies).
I was not as lucky with my drop, I dropped my iPhone 3G and cracked the screen. I went to apple and they told me the repair would be $199+. I was furious that they could charge that kind of money. My friend told me that he had the same problem and he got his phone repaired at http://www.iphone3gscreenrepair.com for only $69. I tried them and I was very happy with my repair. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a screen repair.
