What aesthetic changes could have honestly made? The phone is just a screen with a button, how are you supposed to change that? The 3G is already ALMOST too thin to comfortable hold and what iPhone user doesn't immediately put it in a protective case 5 minutes after buying it? If you want a different color or finish just pick from one of the hundreds of different case designs that would cover up any changes Apple would have made anyways.
I can't wait to take usable pictures and most of all VIDEO! A faster phone will make my day that much better as well.
And just wait until you see app developers start integrating video capture and the magnetometer, you're going to see some pretty groundbreaking stuff. Keep in mind the mag. isn't just about nav apps, it's about giving developers the ability to know EXACTLY how the phone is oriented no matter how your holding it. It will be able to sense literally any movement now coupled with the accl. and thats just cool.
How many ways can you design a slab of electronics with a touch screen? Its not like they need to design buttons and keyboards with it. You people really need to think before typing."
I dont know, try asking your fellow Apple fans that trash and bash every device that is derived from the LG Prada as a "rip off" of Apple's design supposedly.
They expect everyone else to redesign the slab with a touchscreen, but Apple is ok to be stuck here.
I see that as a good thing as a consumer. There's no reason to fix what ain't broken, so hopefully fewer people will feel the need to rush out and upgrade just to have the latest.
I'll be buying one because I'm on the first gen and have been waiting for the 3G replacement before buying. But I have any desire to impress people with my phone, so I'm happy it looks the same as the old 3G.
"How many ways can you design a slab of electronics with a touch screen?" "What aesthetic changes could have honestly made?"
So, you both expect this design to last till the end of time, do you?
Apple will redesign it alright, and I know that when they do, you'll be the first to say, "oh it's even more beautiful" and we'll not be surprised; it will just confirm how hypocrite you are, if there ever was the need.
That's the contrary for me ... I am glad they didn't change it. I don't own an iPhone but I really want one (mostly for the compass) but I can't buy one now as I am bound to another phone service company. I thought if they changed the design, I would be less tempted as I like the current design. They didn't and it is very frustrating to wait the one year my contract takes to end >_<
Also, the design might be what makes the iPhone recognizable, like its own brand. If you change it, that might change the sense of unity there is in the iPhone owner's group (probably thinking of fanboys recognizing themselves in the street ... iPhone is their gang sign :-D)
The device is aimed at gamers and TV watchers, generating a 3D image with use of a pair of 0.7-inch OLED panels, which each display separate images, doing away with the ghost imagery that often comes along with 3D displays.
