De-whater technology? Could you fancy it up a little Darren? Some of us don't speak cockny.
If Vizio wasn't created by the fires of of greed by a power-hungry shady corporation like Best Buy, I'd care.
er. Costco.
on greed > of greed
moar megapennies
hmm bestbuy doesnt even carry Vizio brand....fail?
Best Buy? Wal-Mart is the only retailer that carries Vizio son, get your facts straight.
Costco evil? I think you need to rethink that opinion. Costco has medical benefits that are so good that the CEO is being criticized by other CEO's of "wasting" company finances on them. And they have Medical benefits for part-timers!
I work for a world-wide Electronics superpower and I use my wife's Costco Medical Insurance because it is so comprehensive.
You are an idiot.
I think somebody has confused Insignia with Vizio ...
VIZIO rules. /end
You know what else rules? Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches.
Strawberry or grape?
blueberry
Everytime I try to say blueberry jelly out loud I start to dry heave.
Tastes differ, but until Vizio looses that ugly-@ss frame around the bottom of the set, count me out.
Not that it's an excuse, but that's probably to mirror the sound out from the bottom-firing speakers. Personally, I prefer the clear plastic thingamagiggy on my older 60" vizio, but it can look a little cheap when hung on the wall...not that I'm eager to hang a 180lb tv on the wall.
We've got no word on pricing yet, I take it? Rats.
Its the Black Eyeshield!!!!! Devil Bat Dive!!!!
UltimateAV had a nice look at the development of the LED model last week. It sounds like Vizio is really trying to get it right and make a great, cheap LED LCD set, which would highly interest me. I'd still prefer a plasma, but my space doesn't allow for as much light control as a plasma would want. The article is worth looking at to see what Vizio is doing, though: http://blog.ultimateavmag.com/scottwilkinson/ultimate_vizio/
Have to admit that prices are great. $2200 for a 55" LED-lit LCD is pretty nice. And if you can get it BELOW the MSRP -- such as when it appears at the magical $1999 price point at retail -- the argument for getting it will be pretty compelling.
Not sure about that bottow frame element, though. It looks as though it's specifically made to attract and collect the dust.
I wish Vizio kept makin the vp505. I wish they kept makin plasmas actually. Plasma paired with HQV and panasonic glass? it doesn't get much better than that. I was going to pick up a vp505 but I can't find them anywhere. Their LCD's are ok... IF they make a good LED LCD I may be interested. I hope they make it backlit, not edge lit. Also I hope they feature "local dimming."
how come no one came make these larger than 55"? I need a 58 or 61.
"I need..."
I lol'ed
you can find 58-60 plasmas for about 2500 and less. LG, Samsung, Panasonic. All will have pictures that blow your mind. a 58" b650 plasma is about 2500. A 60" THX certified LG plasma will run around 2000. If you game, I would suggest a panasonic because of their superior protection against burn in and their reputation for build quality.
i didn't know darth vader played football!
I can't wait to see them in person. Really like the LED tech. If the black levels are consistant(uniformity), I'll be looking to get one. I want a 46 though, maybe they'll do that too.
Oooh the XVT panel is apparently IPS in addition to being LED backlight...
If the 42" model is cheap I might have to finally pick one up...the actual panel is apparently only 120Hz with the LED backlight simulating 240Hz, but I don't care about that, 120Hz allows 5:5 pulldown, IPS is what I've been looking for, and the LED backlight bumps the contrast (which was the real problem I had with the older XVTs).
If Vizio has truly managed to make a top notch TV set at their usual prices then this is great. Even if you're not a Vizio fan this is going to light a fire under everyone else's butts.
My new 32-inch Vizio VO320E draws just 86-87 watts of power -- significantly less than competition from Sony, Panasonic, Sharp, etc.
