Logitech V220 notebook mice now features colors, patterns, psychedelia

Hey old man, with your "sensible shoes" and your "401(K)" and your "Mr. Acker Bilk," we don't need your boring old Logitech mouse. Your scene is so yesterday, man! We just got an eyeful of the new V220 notebook mice and we gotta say -- these bad boys are outtasight! They feature the same RF-based USB wireless dongle action of its boring gray brethren, but now the three-button peripheral comes in several psychedelic hues, including blue, pink, purple and red. If that weren't enough, three new patterns are also available -- sure to blow the minds of any squares who might accidentally wander in to your hip pad. Ships today for $30, and we got one more pic for you after the break. Now, where did we put that Moby Grape album?

A nice addition to Fugly, sorry I meant gorgeous HP dv6 artist edition 2. lol
"well heck, people loved it in windows 7...so with don't we try it?"
Nice Beatles reference
The mouse, while groovy, doesn't solve the problem of carpal tunnel syndrome that I seem to get when I try to use the scroll wheel.
For $30, I can dig it.
I'd like to be, under the sea, in a psychedelic mousegarden in the shade.
Is it weird that I read this whole post in a skater-dude voice?
I'll just stick to my plain Jane V220 Nano and non artist edition HP lappy. Somebody really tried to hard...
So, basically, when the technology and ergonomics have been optimized so that there is little left to improve...paint it and let marketing take over. Nice.
Too bad there's not that many Bluetooth mouse. I'd prefer to use an embedded chip instead of losing one of those precious USB port, especially on netbooks.
Should have said mice, not mouse. My mistake.
Yes!!!! Bluetooth please. Why in the world would anyone clog the 2.4Ghz spectrum with yet another proprietary dongle. I'll never buy another wireless periph again unless it adheres to some standard, (Bluetooth, WiFi, Zigbee etc). Why we set our standards so low as to snatch up these dime a dozen mice that clog the 2.4Ghz airways and a USB port.
Why can't someone make a normal sized mouse... but use a tiny receiver like the Logitech Nano?
I hate tiny laptop mice (too small for my hands... I have no problem fitting a regular mouse in a laptop bag) but I love the tiny receiver.
Or... a Bluetooth mouse with 4 or 5 buttons? Or at least a back button!
i had this mouse for my laptop for about 2 months, it was great, then it magically stopped working. i thought it was the battery, but after i changed it it still wouldn't work. bummer :[
IM TRIPPIN MY BALLS OFFFF
Fugly. Shape looks comfortable.
Using a the touchpad rather than a mouse is becoming the cool and preferred thing to do for people. Companies like logitech making these tiny mice that people buy once with their new computer then leave in their desk drawer forever is killing the people who actually use their mice. I miss my old brick of a mouse that didnt cost a fortune.
Don't buy a Logitech product if you don't want after sales frustations. Logitech-World class prices, Third world support, and no international warranty (to claim replacement, must take back to point of purchase..what happens when you no longer live there?)
This, the non-colorful version, is a nice mouse, but I do find that if you dont' plug the receiver into a powered USB port (that is, if you plug it into a low-power USB port, such as on a USB keyboard), then the mouse gets flakey. For example the buttons will seem to "stick" (virtually, not physically). I have to plug the receiver directly into my MacBook, which sucks. You can also use a USB hub that has a power brick, though.
As far as RF versus Bluetooth mice, I have tried bluetooth mice and they suck donkey balls, unless you are a fan of clicking and clicking and twiddling thumbs while waiting for it to wake up or connect or whatever the hell it is doing a lot of the time when you go to use it. That was a while ago, though - maybe bluetooth is better now? I'd have to try before I bought another bluetooth mouse in any case.
