Pleo IP adopted by Pleo's big-hearted manufacturer, Jetta Company Limited
It's the feel bad and then feel good again story of the year: bankrupt Ugobe's intellectual property and assets, including the intensely lovable and yet nearly unloved Pleo, are being snapped up by Jetta Company Limited, which currently manufactures the robotic baby dino. The company plans on re-launching Pleo, and says that all its manufacturing processes for Pleo and related accessories are still intact. Better yet, the company is well established and no stranger to robots: it also builds parts for iRobot's consumer products. Could this be love?

I don't think I am any longer interested in Pleo, the fact of the matter is I have already been ripped off by Ugobe sent the dino back in to them never even got my refund! I hope they burn in hell! I don't care if they are under a new company or been boughten out!

I can tell you possibly the reson why there's some interest in the Pleo again...
It featured on the UK version of 'The Apprentice' only recently and if they can get the costs right it would do well over here for xmas at least.

its a freaking dinosaur toy. what is the big deal? so its got some servos and some software. its still just a really expensive toy.
A.I. @ Jun 12th 2009 3:24AM
What's interesting, Elliott, and quite important is that A.I. and advanced robotics can help us learn more about the mechanics of the human body. The more we can learn about the human body and even the cognitive science behind A.I. the closer we get to advancing the medical field and even treating cancer. The body is more or less an organic robot formed by intelligent design. Each cell has its own program. You can agree or disagree. But looking at the robot shows that it was programmed and therefore needed a programmer. Think about that. The more we advance in the science behind this "expensive toy" the closer we can get to understanding basic components of human make up and creation. So, show some respect...
