First of, from (hopefully) a fairly unbiased opinion and coming from an iPhone owner... I was drooling at the thought of the pre potentially stealing tons of market share from apple, not because of dislike for apple, but because the iphone has been lacking in areas every since it debuted; such as the majority of the updates it supposed to get in 3.0. I just had an epiphany ** maybe apple never included MMS capability because ATT wasn't ready?? Think about, ATT supposedly won't support iPhone MMS till late summer even though the update is coming out in on day!! WTF!? Back to the Pre, I am thrilled in some ways about the slide out keyboard, yet am looking forward to Iphone landscape keyboard, not-to-mention I find I can breeze right through typing a long message easier on a touch screen device than on an actually keyboard that you have to dig your thumb nail into the right button and push it. I always kind of figured palm would be a smaller, better version of the iPhone(s), such as the ever eluding iPhone Nano... which, I would DEFINITELY would have bought into if that would have released it this summer vs a stupid iPhone 3G upgrade. Apple has set the bar pretty high in some respects and I can see device makers exceeding that bar in different areas, but find it hard to believe one manufacturer will combine all the great features that blow the iphone out of the water. I realize the app store plays a huge role in all of this but given the right device... "build it, and they will come"... just like apple did. I am 99% percent certain that over half of iphone owners were apple fans and that is why they bought into the iphone, no, they were simply taken by remarkable device is so feature rich. I know my sentence structure is horrible, but its late and I had to vent. This post didn't necessarily have much to do with the topic except that someone before me remarked on the crappy phone in the picture... what! are we supposed to be excited about this device? I mean really, a "Blackberry Pre"? Give it up with the physical keyboard... especially exposed??? Less of a screen, more chance to press a button, less versatility, and most of all you can't change orientation. I'm tired.
