The newest creature, named "Three," features a simplified design, faster motors, and a larger base for those six-plus-pound laptops of yours. Just dig into the supplied high level software libraries and code yourself a robot! And if you're feeling frisky, check out the various options -- including infrared sensor and webcam. but it's not built into a hamster ball. That makes it totally different.
On the other hand, this is exactly like the Evolution Robotics ER-1 from 5-6 years back. Trouble was notebooks were still too big and not quite powerful enough... and things like WiFi, webcams, mics were not "built in" like they are now. Today's netbook is all the things PCs then were and 1/3 the size weight.
