Samsung B7610 Louvre rematerializes, spec'd and caught on camera

It's been some time since we've heard a word about Samsung's enigmatic QWERTY slider, the B7610 Louvre. Now it looks like we've got on our hands a new, decidedly more clear pic of the phone care of GPSAndCo, along with a list of technical details. According to the site, we're looking at a quad-band Windows Mobile 6.1 device (upgradable to 6.5) with 7.2Mbps HSDPA, 3.5-inch WVGA AMOLED touchscreen, 5 megapixel camera, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio, miniUSB, 1GB built-in memory, and a microSDHC slot. Still not official, but should this pan out, Orange and SFR business customers can look to it sometime in July with the price lining up somewhere between €250 and €500.

First.
Well I'm the first to hope you get gonorrhea.
It adds flavor, much like rabies.
I think its time for engadget to make a rule about banning those accounts+posts with "FIRST"
Much like attractive women already have. If you are the kind of guy who says "first" you aren't the kind of guy any decent girl is gonna wanna be with.
why couldn't this be the android big foot :(
Agreed... It looks WAY better.
Very much agree
You people are totally unreasonable. Android is still a relatively new product and bears no relation to Windows Mobile. How can you expect the hardware to be as nice as WinMo's hardware? They've been doing it for years!
/Sarcasm
MORE STORAGE, MORE ANDROID!!! then it would be just about perfect.
Agreed... as soon as I read WinMobile I lost all interest. WinMo is shit, so who cares what specs the phone has or what it looks like.
Move to Android you guys, the faster the better. Or develop your own mobile OS, but it seems that's too much to ask for most hardware manufacturers.
It has a microSD slot. That means all the storage you want. But really, it looks bloody good.
If it had Android it'd have no rival, but on Windows Mobile I'd rather be a Touch Pro 2. Sure, the HTC is fatter, but materials look a bit better and the HTC community is crazy and fun. And it tilts.
Why is it so easy to forget for these manufactures that this is a PHONE first and pda later. Dedicated number keys are very important on a phone and critical to its operation. It's almost as if phone part of the smart-phone is a second thought for most manufactures.
That's one of my favorite features of the G1, even if it looks butt ugly.
"Phone" is the second part of "Smart-Phone"...
Just saying...
Most touch screen phones have a LARGE on-screen number keys when dialing.
Adding again, dedicated keys is .......
...Mostly because "Phone-Smart" sounds stupid.
This is a nice phone... but even though I hate when people talk about "copying," this seems to borrow a lot from HTC's devices. Why can't they put Android on it? Please? Pretty please?
Virtually no new Android phones will be released until 2.0 Donut is released in bout September. God I wish Win Mobile 7 would come out sooner Win Mobile 6.5 is just 6.1 with a new home screen & very very slight changes.
@Valicore: Stop complaining! There's already plenty at least a few Android phones coming up, and your comment is irrelevant to the post.
I'd rather read more constructive comments in a post like this, than complaining about absymal things like this.
How do you figure?
Samsung has their own UI, an AMOLED capacitive touch screen (HTC still uses resistive garbage screens on their winmo handsets), a better camera than HTC phones, and even more.
Samsung > HTC by far in design and quality.
I dont know why youre complaining, I like it
I think I'm going to switch from ATT to T-Mobile if and when they bring the Samsung i7500 over. Then I'm checking into rehab to work on my blackberry habit.
Looks just like the Mogul........SMH
First thing I thought lol

OMG the only word I dont like out of this is "resistive". But I have a htc toch hd and the screen although resisitve it's actually amazing.
This could well be my next phone.
is there a website that takes pictures of the exact same thing at the exact same time of day with all the different cameras?
Nice but the red numbers painted on the keys are just obnoxious.
I thought it was a requirement for Windows Mobile phones to have a "Windows" button, but I don't see one on this phone.
Strange... but still, I like. Except for the giant "C" button...
Since its a Samsung it probably uses a custom UI for WinMo, like TouchWiz. So maybe that's why there is no "Windows Button".
what's up with the keyboard? i didn't know there was such a thing as an "AZERTY" keyboard...
yeah... there IS a world outside of the good ol' US of A, you know? get out a bit more. travel some. live life. go to paris. its awesome. you'll like it.....
@carballo: i'm a bit too busy finishing my grad program and paying off student loans to go to paris right now. however, i'll gladly let you buy me a plane ticket
fair enough.... but you dont need a plane ticket to use google......
Japanese keyboard is different but still has QWERTY.
The AZERTY layout is a keyboard layout used in several (at least partially) French-speaking countries, including France and Belgium. The French language uses several accented letters, such as é, à and ô, as well as a few other symbols such as œ that do not occur in English. A QWERTY keyboard is therefore insufficient.
I would much rather have this then that ugly beast that got posted yesterday. Although, I'm not sure how easing typing would be on it. The above commenter pointed out the keys are laid out funky. Innnnnnteresting Sammy, Interesting.
same response "the above commenter" got.....
There is a world outside the U.S. you're right. But seeing as we are in the U.S. and in the U.S. we use QWERTY, pointing out that the key layout is different, isn't as big of a deal as you just made it. No need to be a douche because someone pointed something out.
no need to be a douche because someone points out that assuming "we" are all in the US and using QWERTY, on a tech page that features WORLDWIDE products, half that will never see US soil, no less, makes you look like a douche...
man i am sooo horny for this phone. windows mobile with keyboard and 3.5 jack and umm all the other specs are great too but those first 3 are my main needs. i can't wait!!! please come stateside.
Now that is a lot of sexy.
Why can't Android get something remotely resembling that?
Would!
wow not bad
If iPhone ever made a slide out keyboard it would look like this
Yeah, what's wrong with the button location of A, Z, Q and W are all swapped around? I bet they are not releasing this big mistakes on the final phone right?
I still don't like WinMo after 5 years of experience.
AZERTY is the continental French layout.
Ok so these are insanely sick specs
N still won't kill iPhone y is that??
Stick Palm OS on it and i'd consider it.
Windows 6.anything = not close to a hit phone.
Guess you haven't tried HTC's Diamond or Pro.
sounds great
